Terrific review, thanks!

Warren Brown seems to have long been an Element fan.

I just don't see the "ugliness" everyone claims. It's not that weird of a vehicle anymore.

Brown is a good guy, he really writes about diff cars with knowledge and will call out the good and bad reguardless of what brand name he's talking about.

Agreed. I've never thought the E was ugly. And, there are so many now in my neck of the woods that its not even considered unique anymore.

This link is to the "Nuts and Bolts" part of the article:

The bottom line: The Honda Element remains elemental after eight years in the marketplace, and that's a good thing. It has a stronger engine along with a few new features, such as onboard navigation and satellite radio availability. But nothing has been done to tinker with its reason for being, which is to provide solid, basic wagon transportation in a high-quality vehicle at an affordable price.

A nice summation.

IMHO: I think it's important for Honda to understand the reasons why a vehicle like the Element is desireable and that the basic aspects of it's design do not need to be changed now or every 2 or 3 years in response to what some folks perceive as "competition". E.g.: contrary to some people's thinking, the Xb, Soul, Tiguan, CRX, Liberty, Terrain and some others I could think of are not direct competitors to the Element! The physical metrics on these vehicles just do not make for a logical technical comparison.
Dear Honda, please do not change the Element, ergo its raison d'etre!
Give us more Element for our money, not less!

Cheers,
John

I don't see a too many differences between my 05 and my 10. it's like hooking up with a highschool girlfriend; sorta similar but she's learned a few new tricks.

I dispute the "chugging along" comment, my Element hums like a top! Other than that he's right. I do wish he would have touched on the safety aspect though, being provably one of the safest vehicles on the road.

You're confusing your Element with yourself again...
