We will ----You should still play hooky;-)8)
ElementFanatic 05-15-2010, 01:09 PM jojo im the KING of hooky, only problem is my classes are only 5.5 weeks long. If i miss 1 day during the summer its compared to missing 4 days of regular semester. After 2 days missed in the summer you will be dropped from the class, gotta save my "sick" days in case something goes wrong and keeps me from getting to class :(
Now if it was the last two weeks of may or after june i'd go but its just in the wrong time frame :'(
My dog is extremely mad at me for not making this trip :(
Zorak Jones 05-27-2010, 10:10 AM JOJO! Long story, but I don't think i can make this trip aftr all - some major unexpected expenses have come up and i am strapped right now. Any chance we can reschedule for fall? I'm sooooooo sad right now. But maybe then we could get more folks to join us????

That stinks.
We are still going, been looking forward to it and have the days off. We can do something in the fall, probably not that far though, can't take that many days off then.
Can take more days off at Christmas too!
Zorak Jones 06-07-2010, 01:17 PM Oh, you will have to post pictures. I am sooo sad. I'll be thinking about how much fun you'll be having, tho. can't wait to hear about it.
i'm always down for a christmas time trip - i usually have off between xmas and new year.
Hondamade4dogs 06-09-2010, 06:41 AM I can not make it, I have to stay and fix my house, thanks to the Baseball sized hail......

Here are the pictures of the trip, and here are some teasers from Palo Duro.
Just some teasers check out the link above for much much more!
We had so much fun! It was so sad when we had to leave.
The heat was hot, we did all our hiking in the morning and the evening.
during the heat of the day we went to Amarillo for sights and relaxed by the camp, I read a whole book!
But all in all, the humidity heat is MUCH worse!;-)
4 days is NOT ENOUGH!!!!!
Hondamade4dogs 06-18-2010, 07:05 AM Were you the only Element that went ??
Were you the only Element that went ??
Yup, just the Jojo's!
Texan meets are still VERY weak.
But I'll keep showing up!
We saw (4) E's altogether, met 2 of them, talked to one about getting a teardrop. She told us that everyone told her her E wouldn't pull anything.
Hondamade4dogs 06-18-2010, 10:18 PM Man wished I could of made it, but have too much storm damage at my house, Still have No AC, its like 85 inside and 80 outside tonight...I am going to have to break down and get a window unit soon:shock:

You would had a BLAST!
Ours broke 3 days before we left, we sweated it out, then had to run to Home Depot today for a replacement!
Ridgeback Mobile 06-19-2010, 06:22 AM Great pics! Looks like a wonderful place for a FALL trip when pics of that thermometer would tell a different story. What kind of snake is that?

The heat was bearable to us, actually slightly nicer than home where the indexes reach the same temp but the humidity makes you just feel drained and miserable. We actually didn't sweat much at all in the canyon and never felt drained.
I believe the snake is a Texas Coral Snake.
Zorak Jones 06-22-2010, 08:56 AM man, those are some awesome pictures. i'm so sad i couldn't go - but i still have a gaping hole in the ceiling (groan). I'm soooo jealous. i hope i can make it up there some time this year.
ElementFanatic 06-22-2010, 10:54 AM Ya JoJo I think you made all of the Texas E's jealous.... If i didn't have stupid chem 1 and chem 2 int he summer I'd have gone in a heart beat.
BUT since I couldn't go these pictures will have to do
Bowzer 06-22-2010, 11:00 AM Afraid way too much on the plate to do these but as always, with you in spirit, Jojo. Thanks for the pics to bring the rest of us along.
(The one thing I do have penciled in is a shrimp boil on the Coast in Mississippi. All are welcome! And no oil on the beach...yet.)
yakbuggy 08-05-2010, 08:24 AM Wow that looks like it was a great trip. I REALLY need to check this site more often!:-( Oh and for the record the snake is a long nosed snake Rhinocheilus lecontei. Non-venomous and very cool to see one.
Hey Yakbuggy!
Thanks for the snake info! I could not figure out what it was.:?
