Calling all Saint Louis E Owners....I know we kinda sort tried to get a meet together in November and it was way to crazy for everyone......so I was thinking perhaps if we try to plan something for Spring now we could all put aside an afternoon ahead of time.

I had a couple of ideas, but would love to hear everyone's opinions!

Here were some fun things I came up with as possible ideas for an afternoon in the spring....

1. Downtown....lots of picture ops, and then a Cardinal Game after for those interested.

2. Drive to the Wineries.....a caravan out to the wineries and then an afternoon at the wineries.....wine, picnic baskets, and some great photo ops in the valley.

3. A BBQ in a local park.

4. Forest Park Caravan....lots of pic ops with the Jewel Box, Art Museum, and Zoo

I was thinking we could get together in April or May....before it gets too hot and when the weather is just right!

Please let me know what you think!

I'm not a real big fan of the city. Pretty much anything east of 170 gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Nothing firm on the calendar yet in March or April, so plan away!

I won't be 21 until June, so I'd prefer to not do the winery thing, unless I can be the designated driver for ALL YOUR E's! just kidding. Let me know though because I am up for anything... looking forward to it

I think a E meeting at the wineries would be a great idea. As for those drivers under 21 I believe most wineries allow you to bring picnic baskets and your own soda or whatever you would like to eat or drink.

I may be FINALLY getting my E soon and if so, we'll be having a meet in the St. Louis area (St. Charles, whatever...). I'll keep you posted!

Hey, I just go my E last week!! Anyone still up for setting up a meet?? I'm closer to the St. Charles area, we could meet in old town St. Charles, near the riverfront...we could get some cool pics there. Downtown would be cool, too. STLSR has had a few meets in St. Louis.

Count me in. Highway 94 to Hermann MO. is a great drive.

This weekend will be kind of tuff. Its Fathers Day and I know a lot of people will be out of town and won't be able to make it. Why don't we plan on meeting next weekend?

Yeah, I can't this weekend either, I meant just any Sat or Sunday. I'm going on a float trip next weekend, and I'm camping in the E, instead of a tent!!!

If you did meet next weekend, we might be able to on Sunday afternoon. Would anyone be able to meet on 4th of July weekend?? It's a 3 day weekend for most people - we have monday off since 4th is on a Sunday.

I vote a Sunday, St. Charles...I have possibility for two E's...Then, there is other Joe from MH, and MikeQ, and Tom...and Tom might know of others in this area. July 11, 18, 25?

Is there enough parking space in St. Charles old town?

Yeah, on the riverfront near the casino, there is a lot of parking. But if there is an event down there it may fill up. I don't know how often and when there are events. But if that fills up, I'm sure we could find a commuter lot...or the St. Charles Family Arena which is not that far away.

Anybody have any suggetions that knows the area??

Sunday July 11 would work for me, Monday the 5th would also work.

We could even go to Creve Couer Park, there's a really nice lake and beach and stuff.

So far...3 pm July 5...Creve Coeur Park (same place we met before, Joe),
check out E's, get acquainted, photos etc., caravan to St. Charles via new Page Extension, cross river, caravan thru St. Charles on 94, to Hiway 40 east, cross Daniel Boone Bridge, stop at Chesterfield Commons for early dinner (4:30-5:00) at new Old Spaghetti Factory...more photos, say goodbye or shop if you want...

Other ideas?

If we go with this...before we promote further, must be sure Factory is going to be open...

There is a Pasta House on Dorsett, or we could eat a Trailhead Brewry in St. Charles. They have good food and beer. Drving from the park to St. Chas then to the valley may be a bit much for some people.

How many people do you think we could get?

GB The no. depends on our promotion between now and then. I would say low end...maybe 6...high end ??

The brewery sounds interesting...but I wonder if we should push a drinking place as a car club...you know "drinking and driving"...just a thought.

Well, how about we can either all bring a cooler with some hotdogs and bbq at the park or just play it by ear on where we feel like eating. I would rather spend more time looking at everyone elses elements and hanging out than cruising since this will be the first time most of us meet.

Well, why don't we just set it for Monday, July 5, at 3:00PM at Creve Couer park. Then, if we decide we want to go somewhere after that, we can.

It appears we're good for 3:00 on 7/5. For anything resembling drinks, dinner or a drive, unfortunately I have another commitment that evening and will have to turn into a pumpkin by whatever hour it takes to make sure I'm home by 6.

I-270 to Dorsett Ave. in Maryland Heights (first exit south of I-70/I-270 interchange).

West on Dorsett roughly 1.5 miles to first Creve Coeur Park entrance, on right. If you get to the traffic light at Marine Dr. ("T" intersection), you have missed the entrance by about 200 yards.

Once into the park, we meet at first parking lot on left.

*sigh* finally a real meet in St. Louis....and I am in NJ....go figure!

I almost came to STL for the 4th....but my husband ended up deciding to come to NJ.....but I wouldn't have had my E with me in STL anyway.

Hope everyone has a great time at the meet!! Creve Coeur Park is a great place to have a meet.....if you are a golfer bring your clubs.....couple of driving ranges right there :)

FYI - I just drove past Stephen Vincel Honda in Ellisville...They had a whole line of Elements out in front...very unusual. My guess is they are 04's and they are going to begin pushing them...so the roads may soon be "crowded"...with very cool cars.

I hope we can get a lot of people up there with their E's!!!

I was there last week, but wont make that drive again for a while. My element, wife, and I loved forest park. Maybe you should take your caravan to the brewery for a tour and free beer.

Notice the time of this posting - I am waiting up for the next batch of gully-washers to hit at about 3 a.m. The wash bucket is in the kitchen, and once nature's rinse cycle starts, I'll don the trunks and head out. This evening's showers (the ones which rained-out the V.P. Fair ... uhh... Fair St. Louis) rinsed most of the dirt off, so this next time gets soap.

There's no spot-free rinse like a rainwater rinse.

woohoo! Rain is on it's way out and I have utilized the "MikeQBF" method of washing. Digital camera is all charged up and I'm set to go!

well it was a modestly-sized, but fun group today. The weather was great, as was the food. Very informative and enjoyable for me. Looking forward to meeting you guys again. A small number of pictures to follow soon.

We returned home in time for me to get to my meeting, after which I returned to the power off at the house. We had some kick-butt storms, and the power is still off in most of the area. I'm running the computer room on a portable generator at the moment...

I bought mine at St. Louis Honda. Vincel didn't have any of the SOP EX AT 4WD that i wanted. plus the sales guy was kind of a jerk. He told me he had 2004's on the lot back in october. What a BS'er. anyway u can usually find mine parked almost directly across the street from vincel, right next to Imo's.
