Has anyone here put large/wide rims on a 09/10, there are some rims that I like that are 18x9.5 with a 44mm offset, tires 255/45 & 285/40 (they are mustang takeoffs), which i know would be very close, but I am having no luck finding a shop with the tool to measure the maximum tire/wheel combo in one of our e's

so, does anyone know if the new wheel opening gives more or less clearance over the older design?

or has anyone done the measuring........hopefully has a answer?

I don't believe that the arch changed as far as clearance is concerned. ALl Honda seemed to have done was square off the original design but leave the old top of the arch where the new top of the square arch is. As for the wheel well itself and the strut, that has not changed. If it has we're talking a MM or 2 at the most which won't give you much if anything for a larger wheel/tire over what people have already found will fit.
