While I have not had a problem yet with cracked windshield since the day I purchased my E the front windshield has leaked. I have taken it back to the dealer three times for repair and a couple of days ago I noticed that it was leaking again. Each time it is in different places now it is in about three different places. Has anyone had this problem? Someone told me that if you ever have a windshield to leak you will always have problems with it. I have had my E for about 4 months now and back to the dealer we go tomorrow. Please let me know if anyone is having this problem.
Thanks.

FYI: typically, three failed repairs for the same problem without resolution allows you to invoke the lemon law of your state, I believe.

Here's a link to a summary of every state's lemon law. http://autopedia.com/html/HotLinks_Lemon2.html

It appears a vehicle must have 3 repair attempts OR be out of service for 30 cumulative days for the lemon law to apply in most states. (From a casual glance.)

I've had windshields replaced many times and a sealer (rubber-like caulk) is applied all the way around. For a windshield to leak this material must be missing or be thin in the area, it would seem. I would demand they completely remove your windshield when they do repair #3 as they are clearly missing something, or your Element has a serious window frame problem!

Good luck!

That's exactly what I was worrying was the issue and why I brought up the lemon law way out. If the frame isn't properly shaped, they'll *never* get it to stop leaking.

I didn't make it to the dealership today, but both times they sent it to a local store that specializes in glass. The last time they were supposed to have caulked it heavily.....apparently they didn't or you may be right, I may have a frame problem. Thanks. I will post again when I take it back.

Not related to an E, but with my Jeep Wrangler, the flat window also is a target for pebbles etc. I had a window crack once, had it repaired and watched the guy do the install.

I talked too much with the guy and never paid much attention to the caulk. Well after a year, paint bubbles started forming around the frame.

Poor seal job, and it took a LONG time to show.

If I get any issues with an E I'm making double sure they do the caulk right.

Just thought I'd share a vision...
