Just got my Roady. My gosh the sound is CD like. Superior to FM. How is that possible? Pegged to BPM. My Element is a rolling nightclub.

Put the very long antenna wire thru the Sunroof because I don't want to slam doors on it. Thru the grap handle, tucked in the B-pillar trim (protected with that spiral plastic they give you) around the drivers visor pivot and pushed all the excess(a lot) down the A-pillar trim, then tucked into the A-pillar rubber trim close to the side window. My perfect spot is the little shelf under the left vent controls. I want to find a very rare right angle mini-plug to create more space for hard mounting there. The antenna and DC jacks are right angle already. Need to work on wire cleanup.

Signal drops out under bridges and wires but thats OK. Where I normally drive is not a problem. I heard urban centers get ground based repeaters to stop dropouts.

This concept is so cool. :D

Go to xmfan.com for the right angle plug. Also, if you are using FM modulation, check out the PIE adaptor to hardwire the XM to your radio...get rid of the wire running to AUX and the sound is better than modulation.

I have the SkyFi and love it!! Makes those long road trips bearable.

What do those things cost a month?

XM is $9.99/mo ($16.99 for 2) and I think Sirius is ~$12-13/month.

10 bucks a month with 10 buck initiation fee. Less for longer periods of time. check http://www.xmradio.com/index.jspfor details.

I find I am not a MP3 or IPOD type of person. I cannot listen to a song more than 3 times so I cannot stand Classic Rock stations or most FM stations (which are converging to a single format) I need to listen to new and different stuff. Music I collect I seldom want to hear again until much later.

The Roady does not need a car kit and plugs directly into the Aux in. Made in the shade for the Element. Thanks for the link but they still do not have exactly the mini-plug I want. A PIE connection may help to clean up some wiring but its OK for now.
