I am having one put in Saturday. I am wondering if anyone has any horror stories or positive feedback.
I am aware that you have to give up a key. Is it worth giving up the valet key and not having one or is it better to just give up a regular key and order a replacement? Can you order a replacement valet instead for less?

I got the Valet 562T installed this morning. I was nervous about getting the work done simply because I don't particularly like other working on my cars, especially when it comes tot the electronics. Worked out pretty well though.
One thing I didn't like is that it was set to automatically lock all the doors (front and rear hatch) each time you got in and turned the key on. They then would unlock when you turned the key off. I know it is a safety feature, but not one I am interested in. I feel like I would constantly being hitting the lock\\unlock button during daily use. I asked them to disable that feature before I left.
Couple of other things to mention:
All doors unlock when hitting unlock button once.
Remote for remote start allows 1 push of one button as opposed to having to hold down 2 at once. Manual says I should have to hit it twice, but that is not the case with mine.
Pressing lock once locks everything. Pressing it twice does not sound the horn.
I can still use the original honda remotes if I chose to for simply locking and unlocking. Might be a good idea to just give that remote if you are lending the car out.
Well, considering the weather lately, I am sure I am going to love this option.

i have an aftermarket prestige alarm with the built in remote start function for my element that can start up no problem because i put in a bypass kit. i didn't have to give a key to anyone!!! the bypass kit can be bought from www.12voltshop.com the kit is just wires and a brain module that fools the elements ecu thinking that the key is inserted!!! this module is great beacause you will still have the safety feature of preventing hot wiring to your car!!! check it out!!! i received the product within 4 days from canada!!! look under bypass kit when u go to that website... GOOD LUCK!

I have a Viper 790XV keyless/alarm/remote start. I love it! It has the 2-way technology so that the remote acts like pager with a little diagram of the car. It tells you with visual confirmation if the car is locked/unlocked, the alarm is armed/unarmed, and (most importantly) if the car has started. It was great to have this past summer and really great so far this winter. I can leave the heat or AC on, shut the car off, then hit the remote start from the house or my office and the car is either nice and cool or nice and warm by the time I get there.

I had the dealer install an Audiovox instead of going to my install guy and having him put in the Viper. Dealer beat the quote by almost $100, and I wasn't looking for anything fancy like 2-way and all. It's been a godsend with the below freezing temps lately. Two hits of the button turns it on (though I seem to have to press it really hard which is a pain). If you hit the brake before the key's in then the car shuts off. No worries here. Can't wait till Summer when I can get in on a 90 degree day and not stick to my seat in sweat.

Which model did you get? Is the Honda/Acura PKH3 bypass kit the proper one? It sounds like it and for $34 is worth the price. Rather do that than give up a $150 key.
