Does anyone know if the stock radio from a 2003 EX Element will fit and plug into the radio harness of a 2003 DX?
I know that the DX doesnt have a subwoofer or tweeters and I do not intend to install any, I just want to use it with the 4 pioneer speakers that I am now using.
I currently have an Alpine single din unit in my car and it sounds great but I am not too crazy about the lighting or the position of the controls. I do like the look of the double sized stock EX radio and I also like the postioning of the controls. I have someone who wants to sell an EX unit for 100 bucks. This unit comes with the radio ID card.
I would appreciate any feedback that anyone can offer. Thanks!

You might want to consider keeping that Alpine.

The headunit in the EX isn't amplified. If you try to put it in your Element, you're going to need to pick up an amp. And run some wiring between the headunit and amp. Not a huge deal but maybe more than you want to do since it sounds like you're trying to keep it simple.

Thanks for your reply Green Turtle. You are right, I do want to keep it simple. If I were able to put the EX radio into my dash and plug it into the stock DX plug I would be happy but if I have to start with amps and cutting and splicing. I think Im better off with the Alpine. I does sound good! and its already in.

Green turtle, do you know where I can find some info on how to wired the factory HU to an aftermarket amp?

Thanks
