bluesman77 01-30-2004, 08:06 AM Looks very nice IIEZ! Out of curiosity, since I see you drive in snow, have you noticed any change in traction w/ the new tires/wheels?
bluesman77
The new tires are all season BFGoodrich and do just as well as the stock grip. I do have 4WD and usually I have no problem going through anything. However these tires are wider than stock, which make it harder to tread through snow. Wider tires will do that. With snow, on straight aways, no one could touch me, on turns, I take it easy. When the roads are wet or dry, it grips very berry well.
Check out my new muffler. Got it back in December and only now to take photos because it was warm outside. It was chrome, but needs to be polished. Great sound. Has two 6" Magnaflow mufflers with a 4" side exit tip. Check out more photos at:

From the gallery you can see I also added on PIAA bulbs and wipers
RLelement 03-24-2005, 11:55 AM Very Nice! - Just Wondering About Your Offset..does It Rub On The Shock Tower? Coz Its Preety Tight Already At +45(stock). Let Me Know Because I Was Going To Get The Mugen M5 17x7+48 And The Guy Said It Wont Fit.
Later,
Ronnie
Bishop 03-24-2005, 11:56 AM Looks great! Same color as mine! I also put wheels and rims... I will post pics later. Are you thinking of lowering it? Whether you do or not... your car looks great!
Bishop
I am not going to lower it. The tires fill the wheel well pretty good so I am going to leave it. I got the 48 offset so the tires would be inside the fenders. There is another thread that a element owner had +45 offset and stuck out a little. I think you will be fine with 17" rim and +48 offset. Both offsets should also clear the caliper too. However you might want to be cautious on the tire size. I read somewhere that getting a 255 width w/17" rims rubs. Good Luck.
Ddoubled 03-24-2005, 05:48 PM Me likey.....anyway you could post a rear view from a little distance. I want to see how that offset looks.
bigred1 03-24-2005, 06:04 PM Looks Great!!! i have just switched from the goodyears to michellin.....much better traction in snow.
mix300 03-25-2005, 08:22 AM Nice wheels.. Welcome to club 18. I feel the 18s fit best and give you the luxury of driving the E without being a pot-hole commando.... :-D

I have these same tires on 18x8 wheels and I honestly feel that the snow traction is inferior to the stock tire performance. If I had to guess why, it would be that the tires' much wider footprint is keeping the E on top of the snow whereas the narrower stock tire was digging through the snow to find traction. Braking with the stock E in the snow provided a quick stop, with little left/right drift. The BF's stop within an acceptable distance, but the E moved noticibly more left to right.
Its not very techical, but that's how I feel about these tires. Dry performance and rain performance are much better, but the snow performance is lacking.
booggerg 03-25-2005, 12:43 PM I'm always a fan of dark coloured rims..

rymo926 08-23-2006, 01:06 PM quick question, does your tip hit the bumper when turning hard left? mine does and now i know why honda put the tip in the middle of nowhere
BUT WAIT.
Didnt you say that you was NOT going to lower it??
What Happend???
anyways how does the ride feel now then before you lowered it??
details please.
I am not going to lower it. The tires fill the wheel well pretty good so I am going to leave it.
I don't hit anything when I turn hard left. Pardon my lingo, but I am not sure what tip you are mentioning.
Yeah I was not going to drop it, but when I saw the 2007 Element, I had to do it. To me now it looks more natural and how it is suppose to be. I have a feeling that the 2007 will be at the same ride height and offer the same wheel and tire size as the Acura RDX. (235/55R18) Overall it rides good and better handling, just need a more quiet tire.
Got a new set of wheels.
