Big thanks to nismogriff. I like how the bodies are adjustable it is a very nice touch. If there is any body getting ready to install or order make sure you adjust the coils quite a bit before putting them on. I had to readjust a bunch of times. This leads me into a question for those who have these installed. Is there an easier way to adjust the rears then taking them half way out adjusting the lower body then the spring? I have mine set about as low as possible without going into trimming and modding. Here are a couple pics.

I just lower the spring a lot, break the locking ring loose on the strut housing, then spin the housing into position, tighten up the locking ring, then tighten the spring back up, taking measurements before and after.

that e looks great, really like the stance, like it's just kinda moping around

quick question, how is the overall ride with stock size tires and rims?

I really like my stock rims and wanted to maybe run a lower and wider tire with some coilovers when i am able to afford them. :-)

It looks good, now try driving it with 3-4 people...

By the looks of it you have the rear to the maximum lowered adjustment, even though there is still room for the coil to lower more.

did you have to get a camber kit for the front? i was reading on ksports website, that it has pillowball mounts so you dont need a camber kit for the front...

soon I shall have a complete suspension package ( ksports, sway bars, rear LCA's ) im very exited! :D

The ride is not bad it can be a little bouncy but the struts can be adjusted and it seems to make a difference I just have not messed with it yet I am trying to see how it handles being this low.

Yea I know that is not going to work out. I am not all the way down I still have over 1.5 inches left to drop it even more. I am going to raise it up just a bit the back more than the front when I hit really hard bumps things get interesting.

Not only is the pillow ball adjustable, but the lower mount has a slotted upper bolt giving you even more adjustment of camber.

Bad idea to raise/lower ride height by adjusting spring preload as it stresses the shock. Correct way to do it is adjust the shock itself by loosening the shock lock ring and lower the shock body itself not touching spring preload

I believe that what he was saying and thats how I have been doing mine. I was hoping for an easier way now I just drop the whole coil over. I readjusted my rears and it should not rub on the body for now have not tested it with passengers. I need to bring the front up about two turns. I also believe I have some toe in the front, so I better get the front aligned very soon.

I thought I would add a few new pics in this thread instead of starting a new one. I was able to drop the rears with the new springs(it still hits, but not as bad) and this is how it sits as of now. I know its not for every one, but it is how I like it.

What exhaust do you have on your E, is it custom?

I just checked out those pics in your profile, looks nice. I've heard a few E's on here with that Gibson exhaust, although I sure wouldn't mind hearing yours too.8)

Thanks!! I am still away from my vision of what I want it to look like. I have more than one car that I mod, so it's hard to spread funds for all of them.

I think the gas tank and guard is going to be a huge issue in the long run. I wasn't even close to being that low and I scraped it. Something I thought would be a solution would be relocating the gas tank to the spare tire well. It was just a thought though and never looked into it any more than that.

Edit: Sorry, I also meant to say it looks really good! I think the wheels would look good gunmetal. That is just my opinion and taste though!

Yea the tank is a worry but the roads around here are not too bad so it should be fine. Thanks I am not too sure I am keeping the color they did get scratched when tires got mounted so I have to repaint them I will keep it in mind.

and why do this ?

why not do it?

why do people add lift kits and bigger tires?

why do people leave it stock?

so. do you get better gas mileage that low? ide assume it feels more stable at speed and less tipsy

the wheels look great and seems like the tires are working out for you

LOL i was going to say that but felt it would not sway him either way. Yea the speedo is off so I am not sure if I get any better mileage it definitely handles loads better. Just lowering it with out wheels made it better now its much firmer and feels more comfortable in corners. The wheels are good so far I think I have one still out of balance, but all in all I really like em. Ill get the pics up later today i did not get a chance to take em being the place i shoot pics at was busy. Thanks for the complement stay tuned for better pics it does look sweet this low.

Just a new little update to my thread I have been running very low for some time and have already bent a set of spc camber arms and have bottomed out the ingalls already, so this monday is going to be a body mod day. I plan to cut and weld to make room for the camber arms, so I can continue to be this low and still be able to use the car. Btw do not tell me to raise it cause it wont happen. Here are a couple of new pics from a car show i went to in san jose last weekend. The photographer is a friend and takes great pics.

thx.. Here is my update with 2 pix of my body mods it came out good kinda hard to tell by the pics. We cut all the way to the floor then welded in rectangular pipe with custom cuts to fit the car. Then we seam sealed it and under body coated it to keep it looking like it belongs. Its been a long day now for pix.

It came out really well my old man is a welding beast. Best of all it does not hit any more, so far, I still need to test it with people in it. It should be a lot better and it gives me that extra 1/2 or more of clearance.
