At the San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize airport, waiting sadly to return home from our recent vacation, my jaw dropped upon spotting this blue, salt and dust-encrusted Element! Even got to meet the owner and chat a few moments before we had to board our plane - we could have been "brothers" separated at birth, too!
My astonishment comes from how few cars there are in the total pool of vehicles on the island. My S.W.A.G. is there might be only 50 (that actually run and are being driven daily)! Beyond that, there are hordes of golf carts, John Deere tractors towing giant trailers full of food, beer, etc., construction and utility vehicles, bicycles and flip-flop wearing pedestrians. Wheeled vehicles are probably outnumbered by boats at a 10:1 ratio.
