Does anyone have this problem? When driving and listening to the radio on from time to time the radio cuts out. Seems like I can hit a bump and it causes it. Other times if I open and close the drivers door (when parked of course) the radio cuts in or out. I've checked fuses, and everytime I take it to the dealer it works fine. (go figure). It is the stock radio but I have upgraded the speakers back in June 03.

We're talking an EX, since you said stock radio.

Perhaps during the speaker upgrade, you've created a connection near one of the speakers that keeps shorting out? Depending on how the amp is built, that might make it cut out for safety reasons until the short goes away.

Perhaps one of the speakers itself is defective and causes a transient short from time to time?

Take out the speakers you upgraded and wind about a half dozen turns electrical tape around the speaker terminal plate that connects the speaker leads to the wires.

Re-install the speakers in the doors and I GUARANTEE your problem will disappear.
