It seems Honda has achieved cult status. One can only imagine the reaction if the windshield fiasco involved a Big 3 manufacturer. Condemnation and bile would spew from all corners!

I've no windshield cracks but now I compulsively check every morning. I admire the restraint and civility and even humor demonstrated by those not so fortunate. Honda customer service should take a lesson from these people. It appears dealer reaction varies from good service to stonewalling. So it's a crapshoot depending on where you live. Maddening.

"Goodwill gesture my a*s"
They are responsible for a poor design. It's called Product Liability, a term i'm sure they are familiar with. Also "Implied Warranty of Merchantibility" that comes with every American product...i.e. the product will perform reasonably well (is 'fit') for it's intended purpose. A windshield with a proclivity to crack after just a few hundred miles is NOT fit for it's intended purpose. Honda is liable and they know it. They just don't want to admit anything they can avoid admitting. Next time (when they refuse another 'good will gesture') also try the California State Automotive Repair Bureau or maybe Consumer Affairs

Windchill, I'm amused at the thought of you out there every morning, compulsively looking for the windshild crack. I know exactly what you mean; I haven't gotten one yet (going on 2,000 miles) but I feel certain that my day is coming :-)
