I'm new to the group, but I thought that I would share an E-issue that I have experienced!

I have an 03 E, and @ 5000km, I have had to have both front struts replaced. I work in a Honda Dealership parts department, and this issue seems to be growing.

If anyone is familiar with the 01-02 Civic's and there appetite for struts, you know that Honda handled the issue very well.

A quick check... with the wheel turned all the way to one side, peek at the lower stem of the strut, under the spring, and note any sweat, or worse, grease. They will slowly get worse, and the ride will be compromised, eventually damaging the coil spring.

Honda will replace them, but until they fix the defect in the strut, the new struts will probably go again. Keep an eye on it. When they had the problem with the Civic's, it took about a year before they defect struts were replaced with a perfected pair.

I just had my rear struts replaced under warrentey, they were ratteling when I went over a bump, no more rattels with new struts. I'll be checking my front ones now.

That is an issue worth noting. THis kind of stuff is all about a new model year. I swore I would never get a new model but I had to get one of these.

This is hilarious.

1st I get a cracked winshield at 450 miles.
2nd I have the rattling rear struts as well. When i drove it off the lot it started. I took it back in. They kept it for a week to wait for a factory winshield. They replaced one of the struts. I drove it off the lot again today and still has a rattle over bumps. Will have to have them replace the other I supposed to see if that fixes it.
