: News from the trenches...
Inmyelement 03-15-2003, 05:40 PM Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I can start shopping for my E! Would of had one the first week, but had to wait...Thanks to everyone for sustaining me "E"motionally! OK, test drove 3 times, 3 dealers -this is what I have found out. (oh- how come nobody has pointed out that the black is metallic with flakes of purple, green and blue in it? Its beautiful) DX are everywhere. black, blue and silver are a dime a dozen! Good luck on green or SOP. 2 dealers wouldn't even talk to me if I want shoreline mist- which of course, I DO! Said its was impossible wont even take an order! Oh well their loss. The hunt is on.. I just wanna see SLMist in person before I jump. I'll find it -I love a challange. 5 speeds are out there, too! (just not w/4wd yet!) well thanks for listening... I LOVE IT...I WANT IT NOW!!! oh, sorry getting too worked up! Can't believe after following this vehicle from concept (what almost 2 years) I'll finally have one sitting in my driveway!(soon) :D

If I could ever get mine clean I'll take a closer look. I've got a film I can't get off. Good lock on slmist, don't settle, you've waited this long get what you want.
Daveroo 03-15-2003, 10:20 PM Boneheadz,
Was your car waxed recently? You mentioned a film you couldnt get off.
Sometimes if you use a caranuba based wax and there is still some water on the car you can get a sort of oily looking film that is hard to get off (especially on a vehilce painted black).

Simon 03-16-2003, 02:37 AM I think Honda has boosted production of the DXs. They were far and few at least around me, but the last truck had about 7. On-line inventories also reflect the DX numbers rising.
Good Luck on 5 speeds....hard to find.
Black, Blue, and Silver have been churned out and are on the lots.

Where the shipping plastic came in contact with your body can sometimes leave glue lines along the edges. I have noticed lately that this can also happen in a larger area too. This is resdiual glue. Our guys use Windex sprayed on a cloth to remove it. Keep in mind that the Windex will slao remove any wax that you have put on it. We recommend Mothers or Maguires wax, as they are easy to get on and off.

The color Nighthawk Black is AWESOME! (when clean). Mak esure that you get a bottle of touch up paint form the dealer when you take delivery....and whatever you do....dont get wax on the plastic panels....looks like crap and hard to get off, just like all plastics.
