I am a new Element owner. I have only had my Element for about 3 weeks. I am not sure what accessory to buy that I could use for groceries. Most grocery stores use plastic bags which slide around the back of my Element. I have used the back hooks, but they are not big enough for everything. Anyone have a suggestion?

The optional cargo organizer works great. I recommend both it and the cargo net. You can check them out at H and A: http://www.handa-accessories.com/elementint.html

I'm sure there are alternative aftermarket organizers out there that may be cheaper, but i am happy with the (relatively expensive) Honda options.

We try to request the paper bags. Most grocery stores do carry them and we need them anyway, because the city I live in requires stuff being put out for recycling be in brown paper bags. Otherwise, I'd just go buy some kind of rubbermaid container to old them.

I have a black "milk crate" and a collapsible segmented unit. Both look very nice in the back of my E, and work well. Total price $15.

I also have Honda's cargo net that I bought from HAA.

Here's a cheap fix for you.
Go to most any Dept. store (Wally's World, Target, K-Mart, etc.) and in their houseware dept. you'll find non slip shelf liner. It is usually sold in rolls for a couple of bucks each. Put it on top of the spare tire cover and Voila' no more slipping and sliding. If it tears, oh well. When you don't need it, slid it under the spare tire cover till next time. Been doing it for the last month and it works great.

I bought the cargo organizer from Walmart. I think it was 12.88 and it works great!

Most of the time my E has both back seats folded down flat so the dogs can sleep and see out. I have found that the space between the tail gate and the end of the back seat is a perfect fit for a grocery bag. I can get 4 bags along the back on the floor. I put the rest on the seat if I have more.

I put a carpet to match my truck in the back and 2 plastic crates. Carpet is so they don't slide back and forth because that's just about enough to drive you crazy.
