Hey right now my setup is two ten inch JL Audio 10w1v2 subs in a ported box with a JL J2 500.1 amplifier. I just got them and theyre my first subs. They sounds great in the element but Im lookin for something that hits a lot harder and at lower frequencies. I was lookin at:
Alpine SWR-1223D
Alpine SWX-1243D
FI BTL 15 inch

Another thing that would be helpful is what kind of box these subs do well in and what kind of amplifier because Im still new to this stuff. would i need another battery too. Dont worry about the budget either because ive been saving up for this for a while.

get a Fi btl over all of those. I personally like Digital Designs, its the best out of all subs in all cases. Loudest, cleanest, and oh yea a bit expensive lol. but is without a dought the besttttttttttttttttttttt

it sounds like you already know what JL can do. Get some 13 W7's and a pair of slash 1000/1v2's. if you have that kinda budget. might be a little high, but not ridiculous, and you will get your money worth.

OK, so you got subs. Now what does the rest of your system look like? Last time I checked, subs only cover the bottom 2 octaves of what we can hear and pop music recordings rarely enter the bottom octave. What are you listening to that you want to hit harder? I like to haul stuff in my Element so my dream setup would be a JL stealthbox with the 10W3 replaced by a 10W7. A JL HD series 5 channel amp under the seat. I that don't do it for you then add a 13 inch sub and a 1000 watt amp in the spare tire well. Maybe it's me but I remember 15" subs sounded better when you stood 30 feet away from the vehicle than they did in the it.

i love alpine, im about to start putting a all alpine system in my E. im going to go with a 10 in type x in a custom enclosure in the back. when i was in high school i had a nissan xcab pickup with 2 12 in type r's behind the seat and a 500w mono amp running to each of them. you could hear it from down the block. ive had very good luck with alpine. i ran rockford fosgate amps with my type r's wirh no problems.

Well I already got the new sub. With the budget I had, I could only get a JL 13w6 in a ported box with the HD750 amp powering it. I listen to heavy metal, rap with frequencies below and above 20Hz, and techno with frequencies between 7Hz and 15Hz.
