I just bought and brought home my E yesterday. I was noticing the locks on the door i was able to close the lock by pressing the lock on the inside. Then suddenly, i couldn't do that.. i have to push down the lock while opening the handle.
Does anyone else do this?
It's been like that for me from day 1. My wife's Honda Accord works the same way. While inside the car with the door open (such as when exiting), I must always pull the interior door release handle (when door is open)in order for the driver side power door lock button to lock drivers side door along with rest of the car.

if the door is closed, you don't have to hold the handle. if the door is open, you do. also, many thanks to the guy who pointed out that you can probably hold the inside handle with three fingers, and push the power lock button with your pointer, so's you don't have to use two hands to lock the car on the way out.

Honda says that's supposed to help keep you from locking the keys in the car.

k2 is correct. My parents have an old 1990 Accord that does the same thing. Since it doesn't have keyless entry it is kind of annoying to have to hold the handle out while locking the door. Oh well, like anything in life, if you repeat a process enough it becomes second nature.

That's why you get a keypad on the door. :D
