We have Generac generator on out used motorhome we just purchased. Having problems with the generator running consistently.
Generates electricity then stops, then generates for about 30 seconds then stops, won't generate consistently.
Anyone familiar with generators and know what the problem may be?

I'm presuming from your description that the genset engine runs properly, but the electricity output is erratic -- cuts off and on. RV and boat generators vibrate a lot, and sometimes its just a loose connection. Pop the cover off the panel and check for loose things -- wiggle every wire connection, and make tight what isn't.
Have you googled "troubleshoot Generac"? There are troubleshooting sights, you could maybe get a wiring diagram from generac, etc. I'm no expert, but I used to have to tap dance with the generator on my boat from time to time.
Have been doing some internet searches, will keep trying and will also do the tap dancing and the Russian Space Station treatment.
Thanks for the help, will check all the wiring also.

You might also try emailing Generac with a question. I've always seen that brand as VERY reliable and they have good customer service too. Lost my gas cap once, tried to buy a new one and they sent me one unexpected overnight - free.
Just a guess - some of them have a thermal switch inside the generator. If something is tripping it, maybe your load is too large or the switch went bad.

Your right they were very helpful, they sent a owners manual over free of charge and were able to get the # for the regulator which we think may be faulty.
Got a new voltage regulator today and the genny works great now!
