: Our Element was stolen

It happened! Last Friday my wife and I took our 18 month old daughter to the pool for swimming. The thieves broke into our locker and stole our wallets, BOTH sets of car keys, my belt, a jacket, and my underwear. When we got back to the change room, we noticed what had happened. My wife ran out to the parking lot (as fast as a 7 month pregnant lady can run) and noticed that the Element was still there. She was then asked to come in to file a complaint about the locker break in. Not even five minutes passed until I came out with my daughter and noticed that it was gone.

We had 8500km on the vehicle when it was serviced a week before. It is only six months old. We finally heard from the police today that they recovered the vehicle. It now has 9700km on it. It is scratched inside and out. The thieves even threw out our car seat and stroller. So now we wait for what the insurance company will tell us next week. ARGH! Evil people in this world.

But we're keeping our hopes up trying to think of baby names if we have another girl. Hopefully no one else has something like this happen to them. I mean, my element and my undies?

Sorry to hear that. Just to go for a swim? I try to take the minimum with me but can you swim with a key that has Anti-theft inside? Perhaps go with steering wheel lock and take key into pool. Which pool was that?

I have no "helpful", after ther fact, advice.

But that really sucks, alot. Part of me hopes you get it back, but if you do, you might want to trade it in.

PS where are you?

My wife and I live in Langley BC and we went to the Walnut Grove Community Center for our expensive swim. Ironically, there was a meeting there the night before about the increase in auto crime in the area. Seems to be a very popular subject around the Lower Mainland these days.

I wonder if thieves now value the Element's utility. Since it has anti-theft the only easy way to steal it is to get your keys. Going swimming means you have the keys in the locker. Very sinister.
