How long does it take to build an element from start to finish? Why do they give a series of dates for the production of a given car instead of one date. Like production 2/22 through2/26. In reading some posts owners had their car one day after proposed production so it must have been built early. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Usually a new Element rolls off the line every 30 seconds! An average vehicle takes about 2 hours from shell to driveable vehicle. Take a tour of an auto factory if you can, its the best experience! Well, second to the best experience. Once the vehicle is built, it takes about 2 weeks to arrive at the dealership. When your salesperson calls to tell you that you vehicle arrived early, like a week early, thats BS. It means the person ahead of you cancelled to wanted too much discount!

Thanks for the info. My E was built on 2/22 and arrived 2/28. Should pick it up this week.

I agree with sellnacura. It is super cool seeing cars being built.

At the factory I went to, they took every vehicle up to the redline in every gear on a dyno. It was exciting to see a 4wd on two sets of rollers with a wheel speed over 100 mph trying to stay on the rollers.

Where can I find out when my Element was built?

Did you keep the sticker? It might be on there or perhaps on the badge inside the driver's side door frame?
