MarcoFranssen 10-16-2010, 08:52 AM my wife is driving the car mostly, and she was complaining that the security was not working ..........
she puts it into the Valet Mode !!! it works fine again.
bud one thing i found in the valet mode was strange ..... the auto window function on the drivers door was not working in Valet, and the starter was turning verry slow. sometimes so slow, that i tried start the car for several times. like a low battery. is that normal for this Valet mode ??
thanks for the help.
gr,
Marco
Yoda E SC 10-16-2010, 09:55 AM Are you sure it is the OEM honda alarm and not an aftermarket that the dealership (or someone else) may have installed to work with the factory keypad? There are lots of those out there, and not many work very well except for the DEI brand ones. is the green security plug under the dash plugged into something or are there a bunch of wires tapped into it?
MarcoFranssen 10-16-2010, 12:12 PM Yes, it's the real deal. oem Honda.
Yoda E SC 10-16-2010, 02:39 PM try unplugging the green plug and see if your starter acts differently than you are describing now. that will at least tell you if the starter concers are alarm related.
VR6GURU 06-01-2011, 08:20 PM Hello
Picked up an 08 SC today. As i hit the lock button from the remote the horn beeps three times. It seems like a lot of noise just to turn the alarm on. Is this normal or does the alarm need to be reset?
Thank you,
PS. It seems to have the factory alarm system as the led bulb is mounted on the steering column.

Moved your thread into here. If you have the OEM alarm, your answer is in here.

Yoda E SC 06-02-2011, 07:47 AM look under the driver side of the dash to the left of the steering column. See if there is a 20 somthing pin green plug plugged into a module of are there a bunch of wires tapped into it? Doesnt sound like the factory alarm to me, sounds like one of those dealer installed options to me.
lizzurd 06-02-2011, 07:57 AM I had Prestiege alarms on my Civic and Integra and they beeped three times if a door wasn't closed properly or there was another proplem preventing the alarm from arming.
Are you sure that it is actually arming when it beeps?
VR6GURU 06-02-2011, 04:25 PM OK so I'd like to think that I read that manual correctly. I went form "auto" mode to "manual" But it still beeps three times when I arm it?
Is this normal?
(sorry to hijack)
VR6GURU 06-04-2011, 02:55 PM Update: It's definitely the factory alarm. Went by the dealer and the service writer confirmed it to be.
We unplugged the larger plug and the problem went away. It now locks everything with one push of the "arm" button and if a press it again it will confirm with one beep.
The only thing now, I'm sure that the large plug is not supposed to be unplugged. I'm thinking that when it was plugged in the system would think that there is a door open and therefore not arm the system and beep three times to notify me.
Thanks for the help.

Is your domelight staying on? Not sure what would lead you to think the alarm thinks a door is still open. It wouldnt be getting anything different as far as triggers like that than those going to the fusebox and telling the domelight to come on. The same door pins/triggers are used for both.
