: Custom 10" subwoofer Box

I have made a custom subwoofer box for a 10" sub. It is located in the rear on the passenger side.
The box is made so that the seats will still be able to fold up and fold down.

I have also added some tweeters in the back rear pillars for more sound, it seemed like you couldnt hear any voice when u were in the backseat.

Here are some pictures of the sub box and tweeters.

Looks like some really nice work. What are the details?

Removed rear panel, layered and shaped plywood and MDF, Skimmed with bondo, finished sanded, cut out speaker hole, recessed edge, sprayed with gray textured paint
Glued and installed screws through back panel into sub enclosure.
Mounted amp on opposite side panel.
Limited Space for rear tweeters. Alpine tweeters just fit because of sunroof drain tubes/wires.

Nice. How much more thump came to add to your stock 6.5?

considerable amount. It really depends on how much bass u want. I dont have the gain to my sub turned up alot but it sounds really good. But i have turned it up before and it sonuds good to if you like alot of bass

It's awesome man! What sub are you running and amp? What is the internal volume of the box? Would there be any way to do this with a 12''? I was planning of doing something similar with a JL Audio 13w5 but don't have the skill to do so.

I have a 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD410 and a 800W Pioneer GM-D7500M.
and im not sure what the volume is but i remember meeting the requirements for the sub. And yeah its probably possible but im not really sure i never really thought of fitting a 12" when i was making it

Is there an easy way to wire from one side to the other? I'm assuming you went down from the left panel through the spare tire compartment to the other panel?

Yeah i ran the wire up through were the spare tire is. I Actually re wired the whole care, i replaced all speakers in the car and i have 3 amps. 2 of them are under the front seats.

I like it. Could the 12v accessory socket be used as a "port"? haha.

I really fail to utilize that side pocket and could see doing this. I would love a write up on how it was done!?! please? :)

This may be where I put my subs too. I don't foresee myself ever using those pockets (I am used to two door coupes so I get more trunk space than I have even been used too already).

I just don't know how much volume is back there. I have two Image Dynamics ID10v3's now in my car and would like to move up to a higher SPL sub in the future.

Great question. I want one too. I have a 10" sub and amp just sittin waitin for me to install. I would hate to lose the practicality by sitting a sub box back there.

I can't tell you how many times I've napkin-sketched this concept. It looks exactly like I pictured it and it's thrilling to know that it's got usable volume. Nice work. Where'd you stash your amp?

I am starting my new job tomorrow back to car install : ) now that I will have a wood shop again I am going to build something similar.
C_mack9 hit shoot me a pm & maybe we can make it happen. I don't think shipping from AL to Ky would be that bad on a sub enclosure.

P.S. i'm gonna rebuild the one in my Teg too lol

I would totally get in on this too if you decided to "produce" them.

OK guys. I know that some of you are excited about the prospects of a mass produced custom box for the element. NC-B17A, if you do build and produce more of this box please contact SPDRCR5, owner of the Honda club store and site admin, about making a page on the store and selling it that way. multiples of the same item must go thru this route. Just letting you know now in case you were unaware.

Where did you purchase the sub woofer box. This is where I want to have my subwoofer placed. I also want my seats to be able to go up and down and also still have the cargo space. Thanks.

He didn't purchase that sub woofer box, he custom built it himself. 8)

I'm very seriously considering copying this installation, I do believe I would move it to the driver side though as I use both of the storage areas in the rear and the one on the passenger side is larger.

Very nice work.
