That's the radio in my E (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_I8dsHlf2LFw/TMbzuFdx6AI/AAAAAAAABdI/3RNJ27x2DLc/s1600/IMG_0277.JPG), a 2003 DX which I purchased used from a non-Honda dealer. I bought my E sans owner's manual, or paperwork of any kind.
Short version of a long story: I need the radio code. I'm tired of "silent E."
When I do the "hold down 1 and 6" thing, I get THREE groups of numbers: 0873 R750 0357. Frustrated, I called my local dealer who said to bring it in, no problem - they'll get it going, even if they need to pull the radio.
A 45-minute drive later, three separate Honda techs claimed "it's not a factory stereo - the stock radio takes up more space and doesn't have a storage bin under it." They did little else besides push the 1 and 6, scratch their heads, and apologize.
Slightly daunted, I spent ANOTHER hour at the parts counter, where the moron on duty finally produced a schematic which included an "accessory" radio (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_I8dsHlf2LFw/TMb36Bz5EHI/AAAAAAAABdQ/DJ2XVgO2SiY/s1600/IMG_0241.JPG), for which the part number is: 08A02-4E1-100. The parts guy (via my VIN number) was also able to tell me that my '03 DX came stock with NO radio, and that this "accessory" radio was probably added as a dealer-installed add-on. (the "accessory" radio is the single-space unit on the left side of the drawing, number "8", altho there's no number "8" in the table to tell you what it is).

I went back to Service and confronted the "not a Honda radio" guy with this new info. He slapped some keys on his computer, and made a phone call during which he recited the a bunch of numbers, including the 3 groups of code that my radio produces when you hold the "1" and "6." A few service guy shoulder shrugs and mumbled apologies later, I was leaving the dealer joyless in my silent E.
I found some online PDF with installation instructions for this set-up (radio with storage bin), but I haven't been too successful in trying to pull the radio. Even if I did, I'm not sure what that would buy me, as multiple people at my dealership don't have a clue. The sticky here and everything I can find online tells me, for a 2003, to "take it to the dealer." Uh, yeah, tried that.
Having no manual, stickers in the glovebox (or elsewhere), and no idea where it was originally purchased, I'm at a loss.
Any cogent advice would be highly appreciated.
