At least oxygen masks don't fall down from the overhead compartment when it happens...

Hello all! I'm new to the club and have not read all your posts so forgive me if I repeat what many others have said. I have an 03' Element EX-Orange (not 4WD). I definitely am glad to know that I'm not one of the only ones with the windshield crack!!!! (I know of 2 other friends that also have experienced the same thing) Honda told me to call the NHTSA (I think that's who it is--800#) to report it. I'm glad I didn't get my windshield fixed because I already have another nick. The first one happened when I was driving on the street and a TINY pebble hit the lower right side of the windshield and crack (sort of a starry effect) the 2nd one happened on the freeway and a tiny pebble hit the windshield and made 3 little scratches on the driver side lower left windshield.

Ok, I don't want to bore you all but this stuff is important. (My Element was purchased June 03' and I have almost 11,000 miles on my car) I also had a car accident in my Element in September 03'--was rear ended on the freeway going about 60mph (I didn't hit anyone) but it was a 4 car pileup. Thankfully I was not in any way, shape or form injured but my bumper needed to be replaced. Since receiving the new bumper, it has never been the same. The right side keeps popping off (like Lego) and it's been back to Honda 3 times already. (once they fix it, 2-3 weeks later, it pops off again) I'm actually going back tomorrow again. Wish me luck. Would like to know if anyone else had this problem--I know another person that had the same problem, too.
I went on a trip up north in July 03' and the CD player stopped playing my CD's (which were not scratched or defective) after about 4-5 hours. The CD player also got real hot. I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone either.
Other than that, I love my Element! It's a very fun, functional car and I love the floors and the double doors. I have a dog and he loves riding in it too! (of course wearing his seatbelt in the backseat) I have the following extras: cargo cover, side steps, floor mats, seat covers (when will they come out with the rear ones??????), arm rest, splash guards, cargo net, exhaust pipe extension (forgot the correct technical name-sorry)--I think that's it. I have a lot of suggestions of things that I would like to be different about my car--but that's for another time.
Oh, I almost forgot----a few months ago or so (end of last year) had a problem with the keyless entry (alarm) and my interior horn. When I honked the horn (it sounded like it had a cold, was underwater, and was muted and got worse by the day. When I put the alarm on, it made the same weird muted, sick sounding noise and day by day it got worse. (in a week's time- it was almost inaudible!!!) Took it to Honda and they replaced the whole horn system---said it was defective. Hope they figure something out about the lousy windshield!!!!!  :o

Didn't some one else have problems with some bumper trim coming loose? I think they discovered that some part under the trim was distorted, so the trim could not latch on properly. In the days of screws and bolts it was possible for force pieces to fit, but with clips and notches, all parts have to be shaped correctly.

There is always the Element 'duct tape', zip ties. Drill a couple of small hole, and tie the pieces together :)
