Hey guys... I am alive and well the field work was a week long thing and we just got home because a tornado came through on friday night so we had lots of cutting to do to get out.

I would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the meet at Gettysburg. I dont think that there has ever been a nicer group of people in 1 area before. I will post pictures soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am not dead.....I can only apologize for my absense and tell you that I would have rather been in Gettysburg than where I was. I do not want to go into great detail....but needless to say I had pressing personal business that kept me away from the meet. I am glad that so many turned out and that by all accounts everyone had a delightful time. I can promise everyone this.....the next meet on the East Coast I will be there with bells on....nothing, and I mean nothing will keep me away.

Thanks for all who posted pics.....it was almost as if I was there.....and to think I missed giving out the prize for the longest traveled.....oh well Colin guess you will have to wait until next meet for that prize *wink*

I've been waiting for Brian to post just one of the hundreds of pictures I think he and Dea took! Just don't post the one of me Dea took through the open door of their camper Sunday morning, the one where I only have one eye open! I honestly think Brian had the lens caps on all weekend, and just isn't ready to admit it yet! :wink:

hehe do we seem like the type to do that... to be honest I havent gotten my film developed yet... as you two know ive been swamped with home projects. As far as the video goes dea and I did finally watch it... and Dea got some funny footage of colin bearing his "walnut" and making his "not a total a$$ claim" and Brendan at some point she got some funny TEVA footage also. Pics will come soon I promise.

I'll just state for the record that I've tossed those Tevas (got more than 10 years out of 'em!) and bought a new, less disintegrating pair!

By the end of the weekend your old muddy Tevas may have been even more revolting than my walnut display, Brendan, but I suppose it all depended on one's relative perspective, eh? Almost a month later, and I'm still grinning when things like tonight's reminders come up again. Damn glad I made that trip! :lol:

Sounds like there were a lot of memories made at the camp site. Those of us who were not there sure missed out. So, who dares to tell all? Colin, I am glad you enjoyed the journey after all those miles.

I'm surprise Brendan hasn't mentioned this yet so I will. :lol:

After touring & picture taking a group of us went to the "campground" for some beers. On the way it started to rain. After arriving Brian discovered his belongs were placed under the awning out of the rain.

Someone camping near his site had helped him out. As a camper myself this is what camping people do. Well sometime later this car pulls up. The guy stops, says hello & we find out he was the one.

Brian helper was an Aztek driver.

What's more, he drove by slowly a couple of times Sunday morning (to see how the Elements seemed to magically "multiply"?), and seemed to be a really nice guy. Why on earth he was driving an Aztek, I'm sure we'll never know. But yeah, that had to have been the laugh of the weekend, that an Aztek owner was so "nice to us Element owners"!

Heh, yeah that was pretty darn funny!

What i felt was even more funny than the fact the my helper was an aztec driver was that Colin in his outspoken ways pointed out the "ugly" aztec to the driver LOL LOL

Mine will do 0 to 5 knots in 4.5 seconds and without the sail.

Its been a while since the meet in Gettysburg. Whats going on this summer?

How about something on the beach? Maybe Ocean City or something like that? I', willing to travel. I know someone was trying to do something in Tenn. in October. That would be fun too.

I must of missed that post on the meet. Bald Eagle your area and surrounding states would make a great fall tour for the E's

last year we did a fall tour through the catskills was really nice

I know some of the MINI meets and other car clubs do a Skyline Drive rally every so often. Fall would be the perfect time for that route as an idea.
