First off, :030: , my first official post.

Just got my '07 GGM SC on Saturday night. Bought the unit today.

A few questions for now, I'm sure more to come:

I tried going on avic411 and I was completely lost. I didn't understand ONE thing they were talking about.

1. All I wanna find out.. is how to bypass the parking brake sensor. Can I just tap in to the 12v power wire so it thinks the parking brake is always on? Is that the proper way to bypass it?

2. Also, when they talk about "avic 710BT bypass same as F series bypass" what is this "bypass" they speak of?

3. So, if I understand correctly, the Metra 1725 will allow me to keep steering wheel controls, too, right? I'm getting the Scosche dash kit, metra 1725, and HD10. Anything else I need?

I'm also going to do the stealth antenna install (I can do it on the SC right?)

Few, that's all for now. I tried searching and going through the FAQ's first, but couldn't find answers to my top two questions easily.

Thanks!

find a good local shop to install it

it is all on avic411 the bypass is moving pigtails from one slot to another... digg on avic411 and anything that is for the F series also works on yours... it is there just gotta dig. I hit this same problem when I got my unit but found more help by digging on AVIC411 and posting there since it is AVIc specific.

No point in having a shop install it.. I'm good at soldering and the like ;)

Yeah, I just googled it and figured it out on youtube. I learn much easier by watching 8)

The Metra 1725 doesn't have anything to do with steering wheel controls.

You'll need a Axxess Metra ASWC to retain your SW controls.
(it's much better than the PAC unit)

If you are going to do a bypass do it through the software, its way easier than moving the pins around. AVIC 411 should have a writeup

I did both hardware and software bypass.

In a heart beat I would do the hardware again, I had way to much trouble using the tiny touch screen in my car once booted into windows and not the avic platform.

hardware bypass is just using a tiny Flathead screw driver to lift a plastic tab and slide a wire out, move over two slots and slide it in. I'd bet with the right training a zombie could do it.

Like OP said there are youtube videos on the pigtail hack to see how simple it is.
