Will the 17x8 +35 offset 5x114.3 Work out okay?
AztecRol 12-17-2010, 02:24 AM Should be OK. It is going to push the rim/tire out toward the fender
a little bit (1/2"). If you plan on lowering your E, this might be a problem.
What size tire are you going to run, and are you going to lower your E??
deerfoot 12-17-2010, 11:17 AM I bought my E used, I thought it was stock.. but apparently it has green springs on (teins?).
I'm thinking of 245 55 17? But what size would you recommend? The drop doesn't look dangerously low though. There's atleast a 2.5 inch air gap from top of tire to buttom of fender.
deerfoot 12-17-2010, 11:20 AM I have the stock 18 sc wheels on right now, and they've never rubbed once... if that helps.

The 245 55 17 are perfect for the 17s. They should work fine. My question to
you is why do you want to go down to 17s when you have 18s on now??
The rim and tire combo you have should work.

Worried wide 18's wont fit. But I've been looking around and it looks like lots of ppl are running 20s, etc....
So will 18x8 +35 with 245 45 18 fit?
18x9 +30 for rear?
deerfoot 12-21-2010, 01:30 PM http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=575557&postcount=127
He'sable to run this setup:
Work Meister S1 2piece - 20x8.5-245/35 Front and 20x9.5-275/30 Rear
My SC looks similar to that. So if he can do 20x8.5 +35... would that mean I'll be okay with 18x8 +35?

Here are the specs on his rims:
Fronts are 20x8.5 ( +42 ) Tires are 245/35 R20 and
Rears are 20x9.5 ( +38 ) Tires are 275/30 R20
Dont mistake the ratio of the tire with offset of the rim. Very BIG difference!!!
As far as width of the rim, you can safely go with a 8 or 8.5 rim as long
as the offset is correct. You can get away with 9 inch rims in the front
as long as the offset is correct as well. The rears can take 10 inch rims
with the right offset.
The tires you mention are a little small. If you go with 18s, here are the
sizes and how they chart out:
245/45 R18 are a little small:
When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 57.6mph (92.7km/h): 4% slower.
245/50 R18 are just about perfect:
When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 59.8mph (96.3km/h): 0.3% slower.
255/50 R18 are a little big:
When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.7mph (97.7km/h): 1.2% faster.
OK, now to the rims.
18 X 8 +35 will work, it will stick out a bit. Less than 1/2 an inch, so it
should be OK.
18 X 9 +30 will stick out about an inch. In the rear, you want to go with a higher offset, I would stick with closer to +40.
We are going to find you a set of rims, and they will fit!!
PM with what rims you like, Im all over all kinds of forums, and I see
TONS of rims.

THANKKKKKKS SOOOO MUCH MAN! SO FREAKING HELPFUL.
It'd probably be safest for me to run 18x8 +35 all around i think. I'm not trying to rub all the time.
how about 255 45 18?
but 245 50 17 should be less likely to rub?

Here are the specs for those tires"
255/45 R18:
When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 58.5mph (94.2km/h): 2.5% slower.
245/50 R17:
When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 57.7mph (92.9km/h): 3.8% slower.
Both are less likely to rub compared to stock SC rims and 225/55 R18 tires.
As far as what rims to go with, I would go with 18 X 8 with an offset that
is in the +38 to +42 range. Since you are lowered, the more your rims and
tires stick out toward the fender, the more likely you are to rub. You should
be OK with +35, but it may stick out just a bit too much.
For tires, I wouldn't go wider than 245. You can go with a 235/55 R18 or
245/50 R18 and be safe.
