: Who wants heated mirror?
et0201 12-21-2010, 10:57 PM I have a supplier who can make us heated mirrors. I have send a pair of Element mirrors to them and they will make a mould and add heated pads in. If we can get enough of member who will be interested. They will calculate the cost.
Does anyone know if the mirrors for EX and SC are the same?
What are you willing to pay?
A heated honda mirror for civic or MDX is around 25-40 per side. Remember that we are getting it custom make. Price depends on the amount of orders.
Alaskan_Toaster 12-21-2010, 11:05 PM I'm interested (OK, have been for a while in this mod), but, it heavily depends on the cost. I can do the mod myself with snowmobile grip warmers for about $50-ish or so (just a guess on ALL the parts needed), so it would have to be comparable in overall price. A plug a play kit would be wonderful!! :-) :-)
And yes, all Element mirrors are the same (except for the 2012 model   )....
Thanks for getting this started!!  :-)
thekingofboggle 12-21-2010, 11:20 PM I would be very interested, depending on the price.
spdrcr5 12-22-2010, 12:15 AM depending on the price this interests me as well.
Dom.five 12-22-2010, 02:39 AM I have more than just a mild interest, X 2 !! Depending on price.
Dom
TangoBill 12-22-2010, 05:24 AM I would be interested as well.

CoffeeDragon 12-22-2010, 09:57 AM Sign me up for a set. I'd go $50-$75 for a pair, again depending on the quality of the kit. Are we talking about just the heaters or is this a whole kit with wiring, switch, etc? Would also be good if it came with halfway decent instructions. I'm an Engineer, I need a manual :-)
perfdata 12-22-2010, 10:09 AM That would be slick. Can they do turn arrows also?
Bowzer 12-22-2010, 03:37 PM I like it and am interested. The turn signals being included would really pique my interest.
Thanks for the opportunity on this.
chuckc1971 12-22-2010, 04:45 PM I'd just love a set with the led amber turn signals "built in" to the mirror instead of stuck on like the blinglights version:

et0201 12-22-2010, 06:55 PM I can only get the mirrors with heated pad in. I dont think it will cost much to wire it with the rear defrost glass. Again price depends on the numbers of order. Please let me know what price range you are willing to pay for just the mirrors with heated pads. If someone from the board can tell me what is needed to make it a complete kit, please let me know and I will discuss with my supplier.
Frozen E 12-22-2010, 10:41 PM I'm still sitting on the parts to do my conversion. Bought snowmobile heater pads to do this, but since my new house has a garage, I've been slacking on doing this.
All you'd really need is a way to get the wires from the heater inside the cab and then splice into the rear defrost circuit so you can have the car turn the heaters off for you, instead or having a manual switch, forgetting to turn it off, and running into issues like overheating or draining the battery.
I think I paid $34 for the pads at my local ATV shop.
GC-SC 12-29-2010, 11:08 AM I want that kit, living in Canada that's something that should be a standard equipment. Price should range from 50 to 75$.
Lytepipe 12-29-2010, 12:06 PM Count me in. I'd pay up to $75 for a set if they came with a really easy wiring/install kit with instructions for splicing into the defrost line.
bryutas 12-29-2010, 06:24 PM Very interested...depending on ease of install and price, just like everyone else.
Dom.five 12-30-2010, 09:16 PM Well after the snow storm, broke a tree in our yard. I had to order a replacement mirror for Patty's E .
Shipped 1 HONDA ELEMENT 03 04 05 06 07 2003-2007 EX 03-04 POWER NON-HEATED SIDE VIEW MIRROR PASSENGER SIDE RH - . $30.01
So that's a starting point.

tburrell 12-31-2010, 01:50 PM Living in MN, I'd be willing to pony up for heated mirrors. I have to park outside at work, and those things really can ice up.
If the price is under $100 for the set, I'd be interested.
bert96 01-01-2011, 02:15 PM I'm in too if(like all the people here:roll:) the price is right....and the shipping too,i'm from Canada!
I would pay $50-55 for a complete kit.
Bert
proteus9119 01-06-2011, 12:46 PM i'm interested if it were in the $50 to $75 range.
valetz 01-09-2011, 12:23 PM I'd pay up to $75
(If it happens before I do something myself)
marzipan 01-12-2011, 09:57 PM I'd like a set for sure, if it comes complete with wiring kit then that would be a bonus, but if not, it's not a deal breaker. I'd pay $50-$75 for the pads and would be willing to go $75-$100 for a complete kit inc. wiring splice. Might even take three sets, as there are 3 E's in our family.
As a side note has anyone figured out how much extra juice would be needed to run these? It'd be great to run off the same circuit as the rear defroster. Any ideas if that circuit can handle the extra load?
exodite 01-13-2011, 03:35 AM Interested.
Cheers & Blessings,
John
ssick99 01-23-2011, 09:53 PM Im interested.
CBJKing 01-23-2011, 10:00 PM Interested if the price is $50-$65 including instructions and wiring.
Dav2ison 01-27-2011, 05:21 AM I've always wished for heated mirrors. I'd be interested for around 75 for the pair.
Justinb845 01-28-2011, 08:46 PM me too ok now who is going to check in if the circut will handel this
knifeman 01-29-2011, 10:20 AM I too would be very interested in a set of side view mirrors!! I don't see the need for built in turn indicators as we have those already on the side of the element. I would also like to know why the mirrors get so dirty when driving; so much that I can't even see out of them. Any useful hints?
NismoGriff 01-30-2011, 09:51 PM I'm interested for sure!!
jsbagman 01-30-2011, 10:25 PM Very interested, 50-100 bucks
basment 02-23-2011, 07:21 PM Any info on this? I would also be interested.
Leonidas 02-23-2011, 07:27 PM Interested if the price is around $75 including instructions and wiring.
I'm interested in turn signals built in as well as I have an SC so I don't already have those side turn signals like the other models do. I'd pay $100 or so a pair if they included that.
marzipan 02-25-2011, 09:36 PM just wondering how the process is going? et0201, are we any closer to getting these made or are the costs too high? I'd be willing to up my price if it helped, maybe even $150-200, depending on the quality of the kit
Tj Rand 03-01-2011, 03:40 PM Ill buy a set if they have the turn signal indicators built in as well
et0201 04-12-2011, 10:13 PM in the progress of making the mould.
chris Uryevick 04-13-2011, 01:53 PM Count me in for those heated mirrors .
basment 05-07-2011, 06:25 PM Wondering if there are any updates? Prototype?
bert96 07-30-2011, 09:21 AM I know it's summer time but any update????
Bert
desinia 07-31-2011, 04:09 AM It's a lot nicer installing things in the Summer than waiting for the -10 winter evenings.
Also following this thread. Heated mirrors would be absolutely wonderful things in this neck of the woods.
dp3dp 08-03-2011, 07:33 PM Any resolution on this product?
Gonna follow this thread. I am interested if the price is right. I looked into something like this a few years ago, to get some heating elements embedded behind the factory mirror, and run the wiring to the defroster circuit. I went as far as getting some Burco redi-heat (http://www.burcoinc.com/products/other_products/redi_heat_grids/) heating grids behind the mirror glass, but their small generic pads will not cover enough surface area (and the large pad is too big). This might still work if anyone can think of any heated mirrors from other cars that are around the same size.
desinia 08-15-2011, 12:26 AM Any resolution on this product?
This thread is starting to look an awful lot like the one that promised a new version of the E in 2012...
dp3dp 08-15-2011, 06:28 AM Yes it is but maybe just maybe this will come through for a relatively cheap solution to creating a heater mirror.
pizzachef 10-22-2011, 05:19 PM I've got motorcycle grip heaters and some spare mirrors. Hoping to get that working, but I haven't figured out how to separate the glass from the black frame without cracking the glass. So mirror glass with the heater built in would be great...actually, mirror glass just not in the black frame would be nice :-D
Hoping for some further info from the OP.
You can separate the mirror glass from the black frame with a heat gun and a bit of time (held together with some black goop). Burco (burcoinc.com) does list the mirror glass by itself in their catalog, part #s 2973 (left) and 3769 (right).
bert96 11-13-2011, 11:55 AM Any update????
Bert
bleedblue94 12-08-2011, 11:40 AM mark me interested depending on quality and cost
bert96 12-08-2011, 11:44 AM I'm not very optimistic for a positive result of this thread....too bad:-(
kitkat123474 12-17-2011, 02:40 AM i'll try to contact OP in person..
pizzachef 12-18-2011, 07:54 PM Stay tuned for significant progress...
sorry for the tease
just no time to post much tonight
Frozen E 12-18-2011, 10:39 PM I'm going to make my own. Got snowmobile grip heaters already, and spare mirror glass was ordered from Amazon last night. This should be pretty easy to do yourself.
Total in parts so far.....$39

That's exactly my thoughts on how to do this, got some electrical help with this thread:
http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71420&highlight=heated
might help you in your mod. Not able to do mine right now, so maybe ONE of us will actually get it done
Keep us informed on your progress....

That's exactly the way I went. There's really no need to get special mirror glass made with heaters built in. The mirror glass and stick on heaters are already available for pretty cheap.
This should be pretty easy to do yourself.
That's what I thought too...but there's a bit more to it than I was expecting...
Got my thread started over here:
