The part# ...78258
The list............ 185.00, ......Negociated price, ...165.00
Installation.........36.00, ......Negociated price, .....22.00
I'll buy the wiring harness from Honda as suggested by the U-Haul tech..
This way he does'nt plice into existing wiring but rather just plug it in as he says.................
Keep in mind all those prices are Canadian..
PS...This does not include a Draw Bar or ball.

I had a UHaul hitch installed for about the same price ($215 including tax I think) in Kitchener. The UHaul guy recommended threading the wiring down into the spare wheel well & leave it there to avoid corrosion... when you need to use it (will be seldom for me), feed it out throught the back hatch & should be OK to close the hatch on it. That's what I'll be doing when the weather gets better.

Did you get the wiring done at U-Hawl or did they tell you how to do it yourself,
If so, are you going to splice in the existing wiring or buy the Honda Harness & Plug..
What are your plans for your Hitch ? Biking, Camping Trailer, Cargo Box ???
Are you like me, bying anything and everything that looks cool on the Element....
I seem to be able to justify in my own mind every option thats out there..
Lets hope the funds and my wife dont give out anytime soon...
My next option is the Aries Bush Guard, It looks so good.
What other options did you get??
By for now

I just picked up a Class 2 Hitch for my E from Uhaul #78258 for $111.95. Class 2 it was cheaper than the class 1. It was not fun to install, had to enlarge an access hole on each side of the frame and pull the bolt and mounting plate through the frame with a wire. But after about 1 hour it's in and it looks great, right up against the bumper and I can use the 2 inch draw bars and balls i already have. Now if it would just get over the winter thing out here I can pull my ski to the lake!

You sure that isn't a Class 3, not Class 2?

Rack Attack in TO had the same recommendation.
Haven't been on the Board in a while... I haven't done the hitch wiring yet but when I do I'll hook into the connector behind the rear passenger side panel and run it down into the wheel well... I've seen several posts about aftermarket wiring harnesses available more reasonable than the Honda wiring. I bought the hitch to mount a bike rack for the Spring.
So far I have not gone too crazy with accessories (Cloud Rider grills, Honda all weather mats, mud guards & bug deflector). I'm toying with the idea of a Thule roof rack for those trips to the lumber yard. I also like the look of the side steps, but they are a bit pricey... maybe one day!
