: Eagle One wet wax
flowrider 03-06-2004, 12:45 PM Has anyone tried this product? I've heard some good things from a friend of mine and want to know if anyone else has used this product.http://www.eagleone.com/images/2089618.jpg
Now there is a much easier way to wax your vehicle. Wax As-U-Dry is specifically designed to wax your car as you dry it. A special blend of water-reactive polymers and waxes provides that just hand-waxed look in one simple spray-on formula that saves you time and effort.
• Easier to use than conventional waxes
- Just wash, spray on wet car and dry off. You're done!
• Spray on wet car then dry to a lustrous shine
• Adds protection with every wash
• Excellent results on dry cars, body trim, glass and wheels
MikeQBF 03-06-2004, 01:04 PM
Looks intriguing - I'm all for making less work out of it - but I'll echo the repeated concerns about wax vs. the plastic trim. A spray like this is going to be tough to control, as would the drips from a wet car. One thing I've especially noticed in washing the E is that there are lots of little crevices that hang on to water just long enough for you to be "done" wiping... and then they finally drip. Grrr.
rtpjunior 03-06-2004, 03:59 PM Picked up my new '04 E last tuesday. Washed it on Saturday, and used the product on the whole vehicle, plastic, glass, and all. Worked EXCELLENT, left the paint smooth and glossy, NO residue on the plastic, and smells great. Plastic panels were dark and glossy, but not greasy, AKA armoralled. Definitely reccomended........
Empire 03-06-2004, 05:41 PM Yep, I've been using it for over a month now. Infact I'm into my second bottle. It seems to keep a shine alot longer than the quick-wax spray from Meguires I was using before the Eagle One Wax As-U-Dry. It smells better than Meguires also. I also use it on the body, windows and panels. I spray it directly on the body and windows but spray the cloth first then wipe for the panels just so it's not so concentrated on the textured surface. So far I love the stuff. I use it weekly on the black Element and my white Cooper and they both look great until I spray 'em down a week later even after rain.
It's just spray and wipe and it leaves a nice glossy shine with out a build up of waxy streaks. Good stuff.
zarathustra 03-06-2004, 05:43 PM Been usin it since I got my E. Worx great, no subsitute for a real wax but works good. I have a feeling its the same stuff they spray on at the drive through car wash.

This product is said to work great on the plastic too. Haven't tried it yet, but I will.
flowrider 03-06-2004, 08:43 PM Hmmmmmm.... Thanks everyone for your opinions. Maybe I'll have to get a bottle.
El Mental 04-17-2004, 09:54 PM I am on my second bottle. Makes wash-dry-wax just two steps. As the direx say, don't use in sun and use it sparingly. Does nicely on the plastic too. Use it on our Odysessey too. I use Pledge to touch up things like bugs between washes.
Zester 04-20-2004, 08:43 PM Yes, this product is great!! I love it! Works very well on the plastic exterior as well. No streaking. Not blotchy. Looks great! Very easy to use, not too pricey. I recommend it for sure. Hmmm...I've never used it in the sun...wonder what happens then!? Streaky??? Anyone made this mistake...and will admit to it?? :P
BoxTurtle 04-21-2004, 03:41 PM After reading your post about this wax/polish I just had to try it. So I ran out to Wallymart and bought a bottle.
Well.....WOW! This stuff is the great! I did the whole car and the panels with it and it all looks terrific! (glass too)
Only thing I did a bit different is I washed and dryed my E and pulled it into the guarge to cool off and applied the wax there with a slightly dampened cloth with the product.
I then rubbed it all in a and allowed it to dry a bit. Then I rinsed the cloth with some cool water and re-polished the car and panels to even out the wax. Easy, easy, easy!
The result, a fantastic wet look that even feels smooth to the touch! The panels had a great deep metalic sheen but didnt darken at all. My E looks so so nice!
By the way, I had a scuff on my front bumper since I brought my E home, and guess what, ITS GONE!!!!!
So again thanks for this wonderful tip!

\"VOSGTC\" 04-22-2004, 09:35 PM $4.97 per bottle
BoxTurtle 04-25-2004, 05:52 PM OK its been a week since my 1st Eagle One wax job and my E still looks great, but a clean E is a happy E, so I washed it again today.
The Eagle One was still smooth and showed no signs of wearing off.
I washed my E and reapplied the Eagle One.
I did the panels the glass and the metal same as last week.
My E shines and looks wet, never before have I had a car that actually looked wet after a waxing, I was again impressed.
The best part is the scuffs on the panels are still gone, and the panels didnt run or mess or anything. They are protected and the metalic specs show threw wonderfully!

LMN_OP 04-25-2004, 06:40 PM Just picked up at Costco, double pack for $8.49. That should last coupla years.
zanpakuro 04-27-2004, 12:27 AM Newb here, My first post. Hello!!
As for spraying it on the windows. Is that normal to put wax on the
windshield? So just spray it on the windows and wipe off?
BoxTurtle 04-28-2004, 06:09 PM Do the whole E, panels, paint, glass, but skip the front windshield!
My tips...wash and dry your E as normal, then spray a small rag with the Eagle one.
Damp wipe your E with the Eagle one and rub to a wonderful luster.
On the panels I always add a little more, no need to buff the panels they will just dry on their own.
The results are fantastic!!!!

\"VOSGTC\" 05-05-2004, 03:51 PM With the sun shining and not having any known work, I washed my E and applied the Eagle One stuff for the first time. My afternoon stops included a body shop about an upcoming van rental. The owner and all employees came out to check out the E. Several commented on the exceptional shine on the painted portions.
This stuff works for me.
calm54 05-09-2004, 05:32 PM Today was overcast and Mother's Day, so I washed my wife's car and my E. I used the Eagle wax. That stuff is very easy to use and works great. I like what it does to the panels. :)
OK, here is my problem....
The posts on Eagle One intrigued me, especially after having some streaking problems with 303, and requiring much work to avoid same problem with 303.(much buffing and wiping off of "excess")
So I was next door to the auto supply place tonight, and popped in and found Eagle One wax as U dry on sale for only $4. Couldn't resist of course. :?
Now the dilema...I just washed my Element last weekend and its not a rainy week this week. My wife and neighbors are already figuring I am way to obsessed with this car. Is washing it two weekends in a row, to see how the Eagle one works on the panels and see that "wet look"...is just asking for "perception problems" by said wife and neighors?

Dump the wife and move!
Washing your E twice a week for any reason is not obsessive, it's enthusiastic. Tell them that you are removing minute particles of lint and dust that cause long term damage to the finish and decrease the Element's resale value, as well as eliminating a build up of road grime that tends to increase the drag co-efficient and compromise fuel economy. Actually, washing your E twice a day is not obsessive, unless of course you're naked, drooling and dancing around like a chimpanzee. Come to think of it, even THAT is acceptable under certain conditions.
Of course the neighbors may point and giggle at my "obsessing" over my vehicles (and I am usually not really THAT bad), but I should also note, that when I sold my 10 year old Nissan truck to get the Element, that it ended up residing in the driveway two doors down, with that neighbor scooping it up, in large part because he observed my obsessive behaviour. (and I keep feeling like its just plain parked in the wrong driveway every time I see it...feels weird.)
oh goodie, looks like a few bits of lint on the Element, and isn't that a thin layer of dust? Should be ready to check out the new wax by the weekend......... 8)
Seriously... I am having a LOT of trouble with the panels streaking after 303 treatment, even carefully "wiping off the excess. I AM hoping the Eagle One works "better" on the plastic and wet look on the metal...all in one product.
calm54 05-16-2004, 12:24 AM I am glad that others are worried that their spouses may think they are obessive over their E's. I have refrained from washing the E for that very reason. This week I installed mud flaps and a bug deflector on the E. My daughter just ask what I was doing. I told her I got a tiny chip on the hood! She just nodded her head and grinned. I am not obsessive!
James 05-16-2004, 08:55 PM Tried the Eagle One Wash as u dry today. It is the greatest product I have ever used.It leaves a great finish(Do not know how long the wax will last),its easy to use and makes the panels look great.I highly recommend.Just my 2 cents

I ran out of time and it was spotty rain...darn. The spotty rain I could have overlooked...but darn those silly weekend intrusions like yardwork and house chores. ( I know...gotta get my priorities in line;-)
itchin' to try for that "wet look" and a panel treatment that doesn't streak.........
Gotta wait for next weekend now....... :(
joeBoxer 05-19-2004, 01:45 PM this stuff sounds good. gonna pick up a bottle and give it a try!
WOW!
finally tried out the Eagle One Wax-as-you-dry
There has to be a catch...It just can't be this good!
Washed the Element with some cheapo Kit, then shook and sprayed the eagle one, smearing it around with a rag on the still wet car and toweling it dry.(section by section) AMAZING!
And it works on EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! (although I used 20/10 rain Slick on the front windshield)
No avoiding the panels, and not only does it bring a nice depth to the plastic panels, but it brings out the metal flake sparkle in the panels which I didn't even realize was there until I used this stuff.
And no white caked wax to deal with around the emblems and in all the cracks and crevasses like a "normal" wax. Just clean looking sparkle, and relatively easy.
I had to figure out an excuse to drive my Element, just to show it off and appreciate it. 8)
I did use 303 on the tires but will not put that streak prone stuff on my exterior panels anymore.
I am a convert to Eagle One, at least until someone can figure out a catch to it!
id: 635 05-29-2004, 03:15 PM washed the E today with Blue Coral Wash & Wax - then used the Eagle One Wax As You Dry - all i can say is WOW! -
even used the same rag on the plastic panels AND the windows (inside and out) -- -you could become addicted to this stuff - what a great product.
- can't figure why i would need to use any other wax if the Eagle One is applied after each wash!?
MikeQBF 05-29-2004, 03:31 PM It was on sale when I went to buy oil yesterday, so "Why not?".
Give me a couple of days to reserve judgement, though. Our E always looks great right after a wash, and I didn't particularly notice any pronounced improvement.
I will agree, though - a cinch to use, and no discoloring or streaking on the plastic panels... I can live with that!
8)
LMN_OP 05-29-2004, 03:50 PM But it doesn't give you the slipperiness to the paint like normal wax does.
You still need use normal wax every few monthes, but it does keep it looking good in between wax jobs.
Danawj 06-02-2004, 01:36 PM DAMN!
Allow me to echo the opinions of my fellow EOC members by saying this one one HELL of a product. And like Honu said, I was amazed at the effect on the body cladding... I never knew those things could look THAT good!
You know, this stuff kind of reminds me of a wax used to use at a detailing shop I worked at in college. It was pretty much straight liquid caranuba (sp?) wax. Easy on, wiped clean - even on plastics and glass, and gave an incredible shine. The only drawback was that it only lasted until the first heavy rainfall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this won't be the case with the Eagle 1.
After testing the product out a little bit on my own - and felt satisfied that it's claims were true - I let my kids help out with the job... It's THAT easy to get good results with this stuff!
Rock on, Eagle 1!
-D
joeBoxer 06-02-2004, 01:45 PM i got a bottle but haven't used it yet. how did you apply it? did you dry everything first and then spray it on a rag and wipe it on, or did you spray it directly on the finish and then wipe it around? did you do the paint, panels, windows and wheels too?
Danawj 06-02-2004, 01:48 PM Hey Joe,
Actually, I just sprayed it on while the car was still VERY wet. A couple sprays at a time on EVERY surface (with the exception to the wheels) and then just wiped each section down with an old towel. Incredible results....
-D
joeBoxer 06-02-2004, 01:55 PM coolio. i will have to try it both ways. wet and dry!
Well its rained ever since I E-1'ed the car and its looking dirty but shiney after a couple of weeks of rain.
I am not sure about the above comment regarding the paint not being a "slippery". Looks slicker than snot to me. But then I have a good base wax to start and the Kit wash has some wax built in. So time will tell.
But think about it. Most waxes you wipe most of the wax off anyway, so how critical is the "thick application" stuff. Time will tell.
I applied it by driving the car into the shade/garage right after washing and (shaking and) spraying a swabbing with a quickly wet soft rag, then wiping it dry with an old towel, a section at a time. I am sure some of the fanatics will have more refined methods and others could make it even simpler.
joeBoxer 06-06-2004, 04:19 PM well i tried the spray it on the wet car and dry as normal method today, and as the monkees used to sing, "i'm a believer, not a trace of doubt in my mind..." oops, this stuff is GREAT! even did my new powder coated wheels and then zaino tire blacked my tires. wow the E is looking good today!
zanpakuro 06-06-2004, 10:41 PM So everyone is using old towels to dry there E's?
Wow! Is there something other then old rags to dry the E?
So how will a chamy (cant spell) work?

I've used old terrycloth towels for years. They're cheap and easy to find at Goodwill or Salvation Army. Never liked using a chamois. By the time you get it broken in, its almost time to buy a new one. Plus one swipe over a spot of grease you missed on the rocker panel and the chamois is trash.

Edison 06-10-2004, 06:30 AM I too am pleased with E-1. I even had to search for it... after reading the thread, I set off to get some. But, it seemed as if there was a run on the darn stuff. Who reads these posts??? Every store I went to had a space for it on their shelf, but the "cupboard was bare"... Eventually, after a week or so, I found some and it's great! :)

id: 635 06-10-2004, 08:02 AM a few weeks ago - Kmart had it on sale for $3.50 - but my local one never received any to put out for purchase - after going in 3 times with a rain check and still not finding any - i called the Kmart corporate office and told them i was tired of running back and forth for an advertised sale product that they never stocked - the next day the local manager called to tell me that she had one of her employees go to another Kmart store and she had it waiting for me (4 bottles) at the front service desk!
Well, I have found out Eagle One has its limits.
One of my daughters came back from college for a visit with her formerly bright red and shiny 95 Tercel, which had turned pink on top surfaces and matte finish since I last saw it.
I used the Kit wash and wax and then went at it with Eagle-1. (Why ME?Thats a long story related to who pays the bills one way or another...sigh)
The Eagle-1 worked great on most of the car, but was a disaster on the etched and faded top surface, so I added a coat or so of Maguiers regular carnuba, then wiped again with the Eagle-1 soaked towel, then rubbed like all 'ell with clean soft dry rags and eventually got the thing shiney and only slightly faded looking, but at least pretty darn shiney.
So yes the Eagle-1 isn't for severely abused finishes...but of course no one would let their Element get THAT bad....would they?
zanpakuro 06-14-2004, 12:24 AM Well I finally found a bottle of it today. To bad I just washed my E yesterday. But I tried it out on the Civic.
I still cant believe how great it works. I missed a few spots because I didnt want to get it on the windows. But I will get it next time.
Thanks for the info!
THE FIFTH 06-14-2004, 08:19 AM I liked the shine and beading from it but...
on the bottle it claims to do 12 cars on one bottle.....
I have half a bottle left after doing the E once and a civic vx hatchback once
any one else going through it really fast or am I using way too much????
Two cars, half a bottle??!!!
Take it easy on that trigger!
I think 12 cars refers to doing a gaggle of mini coopers or a flock of convertible Miatas. But I have done the Element a couple of times and a couple of other cars, including the Tercel from 'ell, which ate a LOT, and its getting close to the halfway mark on the SMALL size bottle. I will probably buy the large size next time, now that I know I like it.
How is everyone else doing on their burn rate?
It sure is nice not to have to worry about white splotches on the plastic from regular wax. I finally removed the last of the white spots with some olive oil last weekend and don't want to go THAT route again!
THE FIFTH 06-15-2004, 07:11 AM as good as it looked with this stuff and way it worked on the panels I'm not sure if it has the protection and lasting power of other waxes such as zymol and maguiars gold class. I plan to use 303 protectant on the panels before I wax to prevent white wax residue on the panels. Then use theeagle one as a touch up when drying after a wash.

BEATBOX 07-13-2004, 12:04 PM  DOH!
taking "Eagle One Wax as you dry" to the next level.
Maybe others have work arounds or other approaches, but in my high speed wash and wax cycle (3 family cars this afternoon, including the Element), I have noticed the wiping towel gets soggy pretty fast, or else its just too dry to apply it well.
What I discovered is using one "applicator towel" and then going over it right after with a completely dry towel, which then stays very dry. It goes from shiny to SHINY. Subtle but noticeable. You can actually FEEL the difference, in addition to seeing the difference.
So far I just can't see the down side of this stuff. I just perked up my daughter's 94 camry with it today. And it sure seems to keep beading water for a suprisingly long time, even on the neglected cars in the family. And its FAST to apply. I never could have made it through washing and waxing 3 cars in a late afternoon with "normal" high quality standard wax. And no caked white wax caught in the cracks and seams, AND it works on the plastic as well as the metal...maybe I am just being lazy, but what the heck...works for me anyway.

Hey now! Today I washed the E and not only was my husband sitting on the swing bench just watching, but so was my Dad! This lady was doing all the tough work while they chit chatted. :P
I used the Eagle One Wet Wax for the first time today and it was great! As Honu above was saying I used an applicator towel to apply and dry and a second towel right behind it to wipe over again. It worked really well and the E was shiney and felt slick and clean! I also sprayed the Wet Wax on a towel and wiped over my panels. They looked very nice. Took off that lighter/dry tone and gave it a darker clean sheen.
I'm sold and plan to use this stuff after I wash. I still plan on doing a heavy duty waxing about twice a year though.
