Anyone have any experience with this keyfob? I would like to know how to change it to a silent mode. Every time I open my doors the horn sounds twice and when I close them it sounds once.

Is there a name on the back of it?

You may have to crawl under the dash to find out who made the alarm that was installed.

I don't know if there is an aftermarket alarm installed? I think it may just be an aftermarket fob, there is no name on the back, just the FCC which is ELGTX7

Roll down the drivers window and lock the doors with the remote. Reach in and unlcok the door with the lock knob and open the door....If your horn goes off it is has an alarm.

2004 EX had facory keyless so it should have come with regular Honda remotes.

I'm assuming the alarm would have to be aftermarket if there was one am I right? The element didn't some with one right?

There was a Honda accessory alarm. But they were never a big seller in Canada.

My thinking that if it was just an aftermarket remote working with the factory keyless it should not change the factory settings. The factory keyless does not beep the horn when the doors are unlocked.

Nope, no alarm, I can unlock the door through the window with no problems.

It is aftermarket, Designtech brand BEFORE dei bought them out. it is most likely under the driverside dash up where the factory security plug is to the left of the steering column. there is a blue wire, small gauge, coming from the unit brain. Clip that wire (and dont go getting all MacGrubber on us) and the horn should sound anymore. be sure to leave yourself enough wire to reattach it if later you change your mind about wanting the horn honk (or if you did get all MacGrubber and cut the wrong one). you can also program it to do this without cutting wires but programming can get you in real trouble if you program another option accidentally so i recommend just clipping the wire and capping it off. I could send you the installation manual since it is too big for me to upload here. Oh and by the way, it probably has remote start too if they hooked everything up right, but who knows.

Yeah, I thought it might have remote start too but I tried all the buttons. If you could send me that manual that would be great. I'll pm you my email. Does the manual have the instructions to program it?

I've searched for the manual for it online and can't come up with anything. If anyone knows where to get an electronic copy of the manual for this please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Yoda gets most of the credit for identifying the brand.

I spent a few minutes on googel and found the model number. From there it was a breeze finding the manual.
