I mounted my touchscreen to the dash (where the radio was) ->
Took 6 hrs. of drilling and measuring.

That cable's only out there for testing -> it gets put behind the screen and run to a mini-itx PC.

Since I'm in the middle of similar mods to mine, and we're both in St. Louis, any interest in getting together to share notes?

Sure!

I'm a high school junior and my best time would probably be sometime during spring break:
March 20-28 (2 wks from now)

I live in Ladue, MO 63124 -> Where are you at?

I'm going to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks and was thinking about picking up a couple of dozen mini screens like this for resale. Do you think it would make a good ebay item. If it went well I have a connection there that could keep them coming. I've never done anything like this before but it seems like it could be fun and a little income stream.

You guys are the smartest people I know. Whaddaya think?

Olive & Lindbergh... waaaaaaay on the other side of town!

(For the non-St. Louisans... we're only a couple of miles apart. If that far.)

I'll PM you with phone #.

Definitely. People will snarf 'em right up.

Two concerns:

1. Well, you'd be competing against the guys in Hong Kong and/or Taiwan who are already selling them on eBay for a great price and cheap (for international) shipping.

2. It could be a pain in the rear to deal with warranty related issues.

The one positive thing I can think of is the potential synergy of putting together "packages" of screens, mounting components and/or other A/V components, perhaps along with plans, targeting particular car models.

And for fun, if you haven't checked it out, here's the dashpc site: http://dashpc.com/
