Hey guys

I have noticed the huge problem with the A pillar and the dashboard rattle noise in the 2003 Element. I am unique, I have a rattle noise thats loud on the passenger side in the upper right corner. I would say it is a windsheild problem, but no matter where I press, I can never fully locate the rattle. It is very annoying and was wondering if anyone else has this problem and whether if the rattle is fixable, and is it included in the warranty?? I don't see why not.

Thanks guys

Try the search function for 'TSB'...
I had the same rattle, and when I took the E in, they found the bulletin on it and took care of it, fully warrentied. Now, that's not to say that your rattle is the same one...but that's my story -

BTW - Welcome to the club! Tell us about your E in the Misc. thread

I have taken my Element back 4-5 times for the dash rattle. They performed all TSB's and the rattle is still alive and well. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. Make sure you call Honda regional about this to voice your complaint.
Also make sure you speak with your Honda manager too.

Make sure that your dealer performed TSB-090. If done right, it should take some time. I have heard of dealers doing this one, but not using the correct amount of caulk. When I had my dealer do this, the service writter told me that they made sure they use enough caulk. They had the car for about a day & half.

Skweeki,
Hey your rattling E is not unique, this problem has been going on since the E was introduce last year. Check out the thread "Annoying Dashboard Rattle Noise" and you'll find out how many people have taken the time to write in about this issue - not to mention how many other separate threads have been started on this problem.

This issue along with cracking windshields seem to be the most popular ones that people write in with issues about - look at the "views" and the "replies" count! I think that tells it all!

Good Luck with your rattle box!

I had a rattle in the exact area described. It drove me crazy. It ended up being a loose outside mirror. I found out the hard way. The mirror fell off on the highway. The dealer put on a new mirror, and no more rattle!

I had the same problem last summer - the dealer acted like I was crazy but after 4 or 5 appointments and a visit from their "rattle expert" they finally found it.

Although it sounded like it was coming from the radio area or the passenger side, my rattle was caused by a loose panel on the exterier of the car (front right). It was fixed in August and I haven't had a problem with it again!

With all of the plastic / composite material (that has no sound deadening "carpet", little rattles seem to sound like they are coming from everywhere.
