: How to clean interior panels?

There are a million threads on cleaning all of the exterior plastic panels but i don't really see anything about the interior. What is the best way to CLEAN the interior plastic like the door panels, wall panels in the hatch area as well as the dash which is some sort of softer rubber/plastic. I have all sorts of oily/greasy smudges everywhere.

I have found:

Meguiar's/16 oz. quik interior detailer
Turtle Wax/23 oz. ICE total interior care spray
NXT Generation Tech Protectant

The Meguirs description sounds more like just a cleaner while the Turtle Wax ICE and NXT say they also shine and protect.

Is it necessary to have protection from the sun?
What do you use?
I don't want the interior to be greasy, just clean.

Thanks

Personally I use a damp microfiber cloth.

I am wondering what people do to their carpets and upholstery, anyone ever try using a steam cleaner? I have been wanting to get one.

I am sure you could use it on the plastic as well.

I get the plastic clean with a solution of mild dish detergent and a soft cloth, followed by warm water and a microfiber towel.

I use a low glare plastic treatment on the dash, Formula 303 on the rest of the interior.

No coating I know of will protect the interior from abrasion - I use movers blankets for rough loads.

I used the Meguirs Quik Interior Detailer and it was great. Very mild and cleans nice as well as offering UV protection. Leaves no oily film either.

Those little magic sponge pads do wonders for built up gunk but they are abrasive and will dull the surface if used heavily. The best bet is still warm damp soft cloth and a Palmolive dish soap. Every now and then I will use WD40 on well worn interior panels that see lots of use.
