Rocket Dog

For the past 3 years or so Megan has been under the loving care of Gisele. While I was away in Kuwait and now in California, no dog could have had a more caring, loving home, than Megan had. This is made even more remarkable for the fact that through it all - - the walks, feeding, massages, and love and care was often rewarded by Megan's signature expression "you can be replaced, got that?"
On June 1, Gisele made the courageous decision to have Megan put down. I believe it was a good decision and that her quality of life to the end was the best any dog could have.
I want to thank her publicly for the love and kindness she has shown Megan, and particularly for making her last days as rich and loving as her first days with me. Thank you.
RD, I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Megan. I talked with Gisele briefly about Megan's health when I was dealing with the loss of Alli-G.
Too bad the decision happened so soon.
It's been a bad year for EOC pets.
I really hope they are all playing together and riding in E's somewhere.:-)
Hugs for you and G.

Ted, sorry to hear. We put down a 17 year old cat this year and now dealing with one of three dogs having BAD seizures. One of the older ones is hanging in there. It is tough. Mary wants more pets!!! I want a better life, can I come back as a pet?

So sorry to hear about Megan. :-( She looks like a beautiful girl and sounds like she had a wonderful life. Watching our beloved pets grow old is very hard. I have a 14 year old BC mix with DM. She is still full of life in her eyes and smile but her body just doesn't want to cooperate.

RD, I know what a roller coaster it has been the whole thing with Megan. De did a great job with keeping her for some more months. You are just lucky to have such a great friend. :(
Yes, it has been a bad year for the EOC peeps. I decided to put mine down on May 26th. It went very fast in the last few weeks. I knew I had to do it and while at the vets I was fine (relatively speaking) since I knew he was suffering but still... I miss him every day. He has been our first dog and has been with us for 17 years.
Ted, a huge hug!!!
The first picture was taken in a Hotel close to the airport in Rome, Italy 6 years ago (when he was already 12 or more) when we were first moving to the US.
The second one ois a newer one! He was a sweetie pie. :) <3<3<3

I was honored that someone thought enough of me and my abilities to care for their loving pet. RD she was a wonderful, beautiful, quirky girl. You are correct, she always let me know "I could be replaced" if I didn't walk her on schedule, give her a full body massage first thing in the morning, or get the Wellness bar treat within 5 seconds of entering the house after her nightly walk. :-)
I miss her so much and would gladly care for all over again--illness and all. She was a delight.
Jea, thank you for being their and listening to me when I needed it. My condolences to all who have lost a family pet.
Everyone with a pet give them a belly rub or a kiss on the muzzle from me.
Be well,
gisele

My deepest sympathies, Gisele and RD, on the loss of Megan. There's just no way around the grief, it's so hard to lose them and to be in the position of making the decision on when exactly is the right time.
God bless Megan. I'll say a prayer for my Buck and Thatcher to give her a big welcome wag in Heaven.

I am so sadden by the loss of Megan. What a wonderful dog. Knowing Gisele, Megan was in the best hands while RD was deployed. I couldn't think of a better person.
Hugs for Gisele and RD and hug your pet.
