Use wax at the car wash?

I use a local car wash down the street. It's the kind where you pull ino a bay, get change, pop in a couple quarters to vacuum, then pull forward, pop in a few more quarters, and wash wash wash. The water comes out of a wand-like gun. You can wash, rinse, wax, etc. You get the idea.

Anyway, can I use the wax there, or will it hurt the composite panels?

(I live in an apt, so I don't have the luxury of bucket washing in my driveway with a beer and a girlfriend in a wet t-shirt splashing soap on me and squirting me with a hose in slow motion. I REALLY need a house, a garage, etc...)

It should not hurt. I have run my E thru the local car wash several times. They use the spray on wax over the entire vehicle, and I have not seen a problem yet.

The only problem with using the "spray on wax" at the car wash is that it is water soluble. What you don't remove drying off the car will come off at the next rain or car wash. Doing a hand wax job is still the best protection for your E.
