I don't own an element yet but would really like some advice on the audio system before I get one. Could someone get pics of the amp and tell me where it is and how to get to it. I would like to add another amp and a pair of 10-inch subs but don't know if the factory system has pre-amp outputs or if it's easy to get to? please post pics. thank you

Just put some photos of the head unit & amp on the element-j site:

No schematic or wiring diagram unfortunately, but the photos might be helpful.

Element J:: I saw on your site that you said the clips for the sub cover are "disposable" I am a Honda tech and caan tell you this in wrong. All you need to do is push in on the center of the clip (where the circle is) This will then allow you to pry around the edges of it and pull it out. Once removed you can pop the middle part back out like there are when new. I thought that would be a helpful thing so you dont buy too many of those.

Yes, thanks.

A fellow E owner emailed me about it yesterday afternoon and and I updated the site last night.

How did you install your aftermarket stereo? There are a few things you'll need to do other than the standard "connect all the wires on the wireharness" in order to get a clean sound AND still use your stock sub.

Youll have either to convert your speaker-level's to line-level's or bypass your stock amp, and in order to run the sub youll have to convert the two sub wires (separate from the stock "wireharness" set of wires) to RCA's and run them off your pre-out's on your headunit.

I can help you with this stuff, but I just want to make sure what you are asking before I get too deep into it..haha. I run an aftermarket headunit and the stock sub, so just give me a few details on your installation and I'll help anyway I can.
