Hi , quick question.

I'm just getting into 2 meter Ham radio and would like to one give mom for the E she just ordered, also as a gift for her getting FCC licence.

I have picked a nice and small Yaesu FT1500M but where in the dash is it going to go ya think???

Thanks for any input...

DX or EX?

For DX, you might be able to install a small transceiver above/below the head unit, or do a custom jobbie using the storage pocket below the shifter. For the EX, you could put it in the overhead compartment...

Hey, KF6PHV here. I have a dual band Yaesu 7100. Since this is a remote head unit, I hid the body of the radio, and ran the cable around under the floor mat and between the door stuff and under the dash hugger dash cover. I glued velcro to the bottom of the remote head, and simply stuck the head on to the dash cover, running the cable thru a small x cut into the cover. Antenna is mounted on the left front of the hood with a deck mount that has the small ability to tilt a little, since you don't need a lot of tilt. Finally I ran the power cord from the battery, thru the fender, under the rubber thingie that seals the door, and under the seat where the other part of the radio is hid (ooops! I gave away where I hid the body of the radio!).
This car is made for hiding and using all sorts of radio stuff in it!

Any way you could post some pictures? Sounds exactly like what I'm trying to do with my TM-D700A.
