I just installed the mats and they don't seem to fit right. They bunch up in the middle and just look like junk. What can I do to make them fit right I even follewed the directions.

I've seen in some online stores that they have specific mats for the DX and EX models. The difference I think is in the amount of space the subwoofer takes on the front floor. The DX which has the storage compartment (instead of the subwoofer) does not bulge out on the floor as much as the subwoofer. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you might have DX mats?

according to some of the other threads, the directions that came with the mats say to flip your mat over. There should be a score line for instalation in the EX. Just trim along the score line and it should fit perfectly.

I trimmed mine were it goes around the woofer. Not hard, just follow score mark with a sharp knife and take it easy.

Can you guys tell me how you like those mats?

I was thinking about them but decided to hold off to see how the floor held up without them. Seems okay bare. I use Fantastic and a damp cloth to get them looking like new in only a couple of minutes. They seem pretty indestructible and I see no noticable wear.

Would like to hear from some mat owners, though.

I like them because they clean-up easy and you don't slip.

Does anyone have any thoughts on aftermarket floor mats. I live in the desert and with plenty of sand everywhere, I'd love to be able to pick up a mat and toss the accumulated sand out without having to remove an enormous two sided mat every week. 8)
Oh, and thanks to all of you for such great input on this site. It's been so educational knowing ahead of time about what to expect. And are these wonderful E beasts!! After having mine for 6 days now, I can see why everyone is so ga ga over their E's. Me too! :D

If you were to carefully cut the one you have in half (trim it up to make it need and all) world the two pieces still maintain structual integrity? If so, that should solve the problem.

Went by Costco yesterday and found some after market rubber mats in nearly the exact same gray color of our floor covering. For $19.00 they are an almost perfect fit and color. Can't beat that! 8)

The all weather mats are really nice for the slip factor. I havn't had a problem with them, I ussually drive barefoot, and found a slight problem slipping on the exposed parts of the of the flooring, but the mats are nice, even kinda like a little massage on the feet :)

I had to trim the mat around the subwoofer to have it fit right and get rid of the "bunching up" as previously described.

They definitely have a great anti-slip capability. My concern is how durable they will be over the long haul. The soft rubber may wear excessively where the driver's feet tend to stay. They also are not easy to remove to dump the inevitable sand pile that accumulated from a long New Hampshire winter.
