: XM Radio - home/car - computer control?

I'm looking into getting an XM radio for use in my E, as well as for use at home. Are there any dual use units out there that allow for computer control (say, via a serial port, etc.)?

I'm thinking of scheduling digital recording of some programs during the work day, and being able to have the pc change the channel, etc would be useful.

If not: can you use the same subscription for a home/car unit with the xmpcr unit as well?

I thought the XMpcr did that? Each unit requires a sub, but the second one is only $6.95

It does, but I was hoping for a one-unit solution (the XMpcr can't actually be used without the computer). Paying for two subscriptions seems ridiculous, considering I'm the only user.

I don't think it is possible. XM charges a subscribtion for each "different" radio. I have the SkiFi which I am able to take from home to my E. I don't really have the need to have xm through my computer. The SkiFi works perfectly in the E though, one of the best purchases I have made. And I really didn't want to have a hard wired xm radio in the E, so the SkiFi has worked out really well.

Mostly I want to time shift some XM programs. In the interim, perhaps I'll pick up a roadie and then just record to dat for a while. Thanks!
