I'm quoting myself from the "safari roof rack" post:

I went to a local shop that specializes in custom exhausts. I've seen a couple other dual exhaust done with usually the second pipe branching from the main pipe behind the passenger side rear wheel and crossing over to the driver side rear. My setup starts from the cat and then splits into two 2 1/4" pipes. Both pipes goto dual glasspacks under the existing heat shield then snake thru and around the rear axel and suspension where the stock single pipe went. Then he kept the "extra" left side pipe up close toward the spare tire storage well and bent it around to match the right side's position. He raised the tips closer toward the rear bumper to give it a tighter cleaner look and the heat so far doesn't seem to affect the trim. This also gives me more clearance in the rear from the lower positioned stock pipe. The tips I had him order are a new Black Chrome slanted oval design from Ractive. With me keeping the Element mostly blacked out and void of chrome these tips were a great solution. They have a slick black mirror finish. Going with the glass packs did make a huge difference in sound from the stock exhaust. It's loud and rude . If I get tired of it and want something a bit more quiet I'll just have him swap the glass packs with 2 regular mufflers, maybe MagnaFlow or something. So far I love it.

Empire, you're absolutely right, those spash guards are defective. If you had the forsight to buy the genuine Honda parts and have them installed by the dealer for $250, then that should be covered under warranty.

By the way, I'm really curious where you were...do you mind sharing? The absence of trees intrigued me.

How did the Revos handle the muck? I am thinking of replacing the stockers with Revos when the winter hits Alaska.

Everything handled great. The Revos cut right thru it. Most of the deeper mud ruts were my guess at 7 or 8 inches and the Element never stopped. I'd get stuck going forward and I'd reverse it right out. I think I was kind of hoping to really get it stuck to humble myself a bit over this neat vehicle but it amazed me again. Right when I think I'm getting sick of it the damn thing does something to make me like it even more.
The area is about 70 acres shared between me and my sister near Petersburg. It was originally land owned by a paper company which they later harvested and cleared, hence the Wasteland appearance
Most of the area is old Civil War battlegrounds with some trenches still visible. Bullets from the era can be easily found wherever you look.
The "road" I was on was an access path. Most of the surrounding terrain would be way above the Element's league though with stumps and fallen trunks.

That must be Prince George (not George's) county. Went to high school there, and landscape resembles the area.

Okay! I'm impressed! ! ! !
How was the clearance in some of those ruts?

It's very close to Prince George county, more at the southern end of Petersburg.

The ruts were deep enuff to make me think twice about plowing thru them. We've had about 3 days and nights of rain in the area so most of the surrounding earth was soft so that if the Element was bottoming out it just dredged the surface. I didn't hear any smacking or crashing just lots of sucking fart sounds  ...........and I didn't have lunch yet so no it wasn't me

Here's a cleaner, closer shot of the exhaust tips.
