That "stuff" just happens to be the Murdock Industries Liner for the rear area of the E
I have it in mine also, looks and works great - my only complaint is that I can't keep it in place when I drop the rear seats back to use as seats.
I could cut the mat, etc. - just haven't gotten around to it
The purpose is these are slip resistant compared to the floor in the Element

Hey ORANGEE, I see where Murdock is now making the mat WITH the cutouts for the seats. Actually I kinda like mine without 'em.
