:?: I read all the posts about removing the rear seats, when went out and tried again, this time the one behind the front passenger seat. It rmoved so easily!
So then I went back to the seat behind the driver's seat, and it appeared to be working better. However, instead of coming loose, it is stuck at the top. I can fold it up, but am not able to remove it.
I looked for a number to call Honda at night--no luck. I am moving some major stuff tomorrow and really need to get t his taken care of.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I forgot to mention that the seat also is off track (I think). At any rate, it's crooked. NO cooperating with me at all.

Hello;
Try this:
If it is the mounting against the vehicle:
Remove the plastic cover (you must if you tried to remove the seat)
There are three bolts (14mm socket) that hold the bracket onto the vehicle. If you can remove them, the Seat and bracket will come off together.
If it is the floor mount that is jammed, you may have a bigger problem! Howver unbolting the side mount may give you enough wiggle to get the floor mount unstuck.
Good luck :D

Good thing I didn't have to pay since it was logged in as an hour and 3 minutes at $70 per hour.
If you haven't tried to remove your seats yet, do so before it is out of warranty.
Here's the report: Verified left rear seat will not unlatch. Found seat rail bunding (binding?). Removed burrs from seal rail and lubed with grease. Re-checked OK at this time.
It took a little while longer. They had left the seat loose, which of course would be bad if I had to slam on the brakes. So I got them to reinstall the seat and hang it. Seems like a good idea for cargo, to hang one seat and remove the other.

I put up my back seats to move big stuff pretty often. Anyway, when I put them down again, one goes all the way down and the support thingy latches onto the floor, the other one (right/passenger side) doesn't. It goes down but it doesn't "click" in place so you can easily just lift it up again. No matter what I do I can't get it to latch on to the floor. There's nothing in the way blocking it, it's like the part that clamps down won't clamp down.. or more like it's in it's "closed" position and it's just hitting the little bar it has to latch onto. I tried putting a lot of weight on it (I weigh 300 lbs :p), slamming it down hard, or pushing on it, nothing works. Is this bad? Like, if I'm in an accident can the seat fly off? Even with someone in it?
any ideas?

The rear seats are also removable. I suspect that it may not be properly aligned in the the side-latching area.
Alternately, perhaps the floor latch (on the fin that rotates out) is stuck "latched". Perhaps you need to pull the cord again to unlatch it? Check it against the other side when it is unlatched (i.e. hang both seats and compare the latches).

are u sure that the carabiner hasn't flopped out of it's "pocket" and blocking the locking of the seat???

Well I know there's nothing in the way, especially the clip falling out of the pocket, I had that happen before so it was the first thing I checked. I also tried tugging the yellow cord to get it to open up again but that didn't seem to do anything... I'm thought maybe it was stuck in the open position but I can see the "tooth" from the clamp hitting the rod, it just won't give to wrap around the rod like the other seat does. I guess I can try and take the seat all the way out and then put it back in, maybe it's just not lined up right. I never took the seats out though.. is it easy to do or a big pain?
Would I be better off just telling the honda folks about it next time I'm in for maintenance (which should be in a few weeks)?

i guess if you are a big strong guy - you could easily take the seats out and reset them -- as for me - (not being a big strong guy) - i think i would prefer to take the problem to the dealer and let them handle it - that way if there is anything wrong - they can fix it under warranty at the same time!

If you've got the time, have the dealer investigate.
