His website is now down. Did he take it down, or was he forced to? I was hoping to leave a complaint there after getting the run around from Honda.

Works for me too.
I wonder why there aren't more people posting there, given all the complaints I've seen on these boards about broken windshields.

perhaps the ability to find the site, and perhaps like EdAllen had a hard time opening it.. maybe others are too.

Another thing is to post youhave to submit to that guy and it depends on when he reads and posts them and how he is sifting through them..etc

so there can be many cases there for why.

No problem getting the site, and Rob posted my story right away! Get those stories on there, let Honda know!

I'm now also going after them using insurance fraud websites/hotlines and contacting insurance companies fraud investigation units (Honda is defrauding insurance companies by making them pay for their defect). If everyone did the same with their state ins. commissioner, atty general, and their ins. company, things would move. For more ideas email me.

BTW, this is my last Honda. I said that when my Civic started burning a quart every 3K at 60K and Honda said "it's normal". But this windshield bit, and their lying sack of **** disingenuousness was the last straw.

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Dude...Lighten up. A quart of oil every 3k miles is nothing...My E uses almost that much. I bought a brand new Trooper back in '89 that used a quart about every 1500 miles. But maybe you'd look better in a silver Buick LeSabre anyway...Forget what I said.

I think this should be a sticky thread so new folks can find it

Judge: If You think he's WRONG by doing all this for the rest of us...YOU GOT TOO MUCH TIME SITTING ON YOUR A** DOING NOTHING! Why don't You help the man out and point him in the right direction instead of making some sorry as*ed comments about him having too much free time.

SEMPER FI!

Hey Jarhead, I think everyone here is sick and tired of these stupid windshield posts. Yes, in '03 there was a problem, but now every time someone gets a crack you scream conspiracy. Give me a break. And let's not make it sound as if he's "doing us" a favor, okay? The only thing he's doing is trying to create a class-action out of a statistically insignificant percentage of vehicle owners who've broken their windshields.

There's my rant, take it any way you want.

It's not statistically inignificant.

Brendan is probably right since Honda issued a service bulletin. However, I don't think anyone really knows how many windows have cracked due to the design defect.

Since the TSB was issued and the problem addressed in production it appears to be statistically insignificant. But you simply cannot gather anecdotal evidence from the boards and think it reflects the 50,000 new owners every year.

However, if there really is an issue, then I would hope that E owners would join to address the issue with a class action. Such an action, in federal court, would allow for discovery and then perhaps we would finally know the rate of breakage.

I think you're operating under the assumption that all of the windshield cracks posts to the EOC are from people who joined the EOC to report the problem. There are enough regulars here who've later had cracks (including multiple pieces of glass) that I, again, state that it is not statistically insignificant.

The TSB and production line changes may have taken care of one of the causes/factors, true. We're not seeing that many corner cracks any more.

That doesn't explain the number of 2004s with the same telltale signs of wiper-area cracks, which we also saw in tons of post-TSB 2003s. The cracks invariably are of the same form.

You call it anecdotal, I call it seeing strong patterns.

I tried the site again and I was able to get to it. The site was down when I originally posted and the first thing I thought was conspiracy!

I'll glady take the windshield crack over the problem on my wife's last car. She hit a pot hole doing while turnng in an intersection, the side airbag deployed filling the inside with smoke and disabling the car in the middle of an intersection. About 4k in damage without actually hitting anything.

A quick search on vwvortex on "airbag" will pull up hundreads of topics. There are about 20 accounts on NHTSA of airbags going off with little or no impact. I have yet to add my complaint, as I am sure many element owners haven't done with their windshield.

My E has NO side airbags, btw.
