Earlier tonight I was searching for paint codes for my Element and I thought I'd share the info here for those that might need it. If anyone knows of a good place to order these paints, that info would be appreciated.

Color Description Color Code
Fiji Blue Pearl Clearcoat B-529P
Nighthawk Black Pearl Clearcoat B-92P
Galapagos Green Metallic Clearcoat G-511M
Satin Silver Metallic Clearcoat NH-623M
Shoreline Mist Metallic Clearcoat YR-528M
Sunset Orange Pearl Clearcoat YR-539M
DX Gray (bumper) 7135
EX Gray (bumper) 7136

Also... When I was first shopping for a vehicle to replace my 2000 Jimmy... I am quite certain that I saw a Taffeta White Element on the lot at the dealership where I eventually purchased my E. Has anyone here seen one? I know it's possible it had been painted by the dealer, however, in east central Indiana it is not at all common for a dealer to make modifications to a dealer new auto.
But as I recall I also remember seeing a "riced" Civic Si there once. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I love my Kiwi so much that I want to use that EXACT color in my logo. My logo designer wants to know either the Pantone, RGB or CMYK formula for the Kiwi. Honda Automotive customer service couldn't tell me anything other than the Honda paint code, which is GY-25M. Is there anyone out there who knows about a way to convert this paint code to Pantone, RGB or CMYK?

E-Freak
03-13-2006, 01:38 PM
I guess you could drive your Element over to your designer's place and then use their Pantone guide to match the colour. If they're not within driving distance you could visit your friendly, neighbourhood print shop and ask to borrow their guide.

ramblerdan
03-13-2006, 01:50 PM
The fact that it's a metallic paint will make it difficult to match on a color chart (the pearl colors are much worse!). As E-Freak suggested, hold a chart up to the car. Overcast daylight is probably best.

Thanks for the color code, Farmdog. Now the only codes (http://www.skidmore.edu/~pdwyer/e/colors.htm) I'm missing are Alabaster Silver Metallic, Proton Blue Metallic, Tangerine Metallic, and Tango Red Pearl. Anybody have those? [edit: Got 'em, thanks all.]

The exterior paint code & interior color code can be found on a sticker inside the drivers door frame. You have a Sunset Orange Pearl 2005, you should find the code :YR539P listed on the sticker there. That should be your color code.

Hey! My E has been in the paint shop for 5 very long weeks. The painter is having problems matching the grey panels to the silver paint. He has tried different brands of paint but still he can not find a decent match. Does anyone know what paint code and brand can be used to match the silver paint as close as possible? My painter is telling me that two-toning the car would be the best way of getting out of the predicament. I would still really like to stay with a solid color. I'm taking a trip down to the body shop tommorow. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

paint code is on the door. Your painter should know that. Fill in your Element info under UserCP and then someone would be able to give you the exact paint code.

I'm not sure if this is anywhere on the boards, but I found all the paint codes for all the colors the Element was offered in. If you give this code to someone with a big paint mixing droid (ha, Empire and tooljedi), they can mix up the right paint to paint your car! I think.

Anyway, these are for all the years, including 2007!

Pretty nifty, huh?

Here they are:

ABM - Atomic Blue Metallic - B537M
ASM - Alabaster Silver Metallic - NH-700M
CK - Cargo Khaki (Yeah, baby! ha) - YR547M
EBP - Eternal Blue Pearl - B-96P
FBP - Fiji Blue Pearl - B529P
GGM - Galapagos Green Metallic - G511M
GGyM - Galaxy Gray Metallic - NH701M
KM - Kiwi Metallic - GY25M
MM - Magnesium Metallic - NH675M
NBP - Nighthawk Black Pearl - B92P
RR - Rallye Red - R513
SMM - Shoreline Mist Metallic - YR528M
SOP - Sunset Orange Pearl - YR539P
SSM - Satin Silver Metallic - NH623M
TM - Tangerine Metallic - YR5863M
TRP - Tango Red Pearl - R525P

In case anyone is interested or wants to know what the names of the colours are and what years they were produced, here's a little list I was turned on to. We've got the same type of thing going on over at www.northamericanmotoring.com for MINIs as there are so many colours for them and some with very limited production numbers.

I have to give credit for this list to RamblerDan.
click on this link to see what years the colours were produced:

Open the driver's door and you will find a sticker on the rear pass door, about 6 inches below the handle. The paint code will be at the bottom of sticker, the middle set of numbers and letters.

Thanks, Lizzurd!

In addition to the paint chips, I added popups with the Element in each color. I'm no Javascript expert, so I don't know why it works perfectly only with Firefox on the PC. I tried it with IE on the PC and with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Netscape on a Mac. Some kinda worked, others didn't work at all. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has success with another browser.

A question for the group: Right now the colors are in alpha order by initialism (ABM, ASM, etc.). Would it be more useful to group them by color instead (as below)?

Ramblerdan,

I like what you did with the list above. I also like the fact that when you click on the color, a colored version of the E pops up. Leave the list the way it is. It shows what is needed, the year, the color, the code, the name of the color. Thanks.

There is a titanium interior on some E's but no titanium metallic exterior colour.

Is it possible it was black with a titanium interior?

I'm thinking of buying a rear spoiler.
They guarantee a paint match if I supply the paint code.

I used to find paint codes form my USA built cars on a metal plate in the driver side door jambs.

But for this 2009 E, I don't see a number that looks like a paint code.

For what it's worth, the honda dealer listed it as called Tango Red.

Please, where do I look and what format will the code be in.

Please and thank you.
