Just bought my E yesterday. Orange EX w/ AWD. What an experience - not the dealer, but the first few hours with my new E.

Left the dealer and drove to a friend's. Had the obligatory ooing and aahing (they're my friends after all), and went inside. A few minutes later I looked outside and two of the neighbors were standing in the driveway, checking out my car! Spent a few minutes giving them a tour, and I wouldn't be surprised if one or both by an E.

Then went to dinner, and as I pulled in to the restaurant lot, I heard a girl shout to her mother to "look at that car!"

After dinner, driving home, a couple pulled up next to me in traffic and the woman (who probably should have been watching the road :-) mouthed "We really like your car!" Had to laugh -- It was too much like the "Nice Pants" TV ad.

Everywhere I drive, people stare at the car. All the rubbernecking is a bit weird, but it's fun getting so much attention.

I'd like to hear other new E stories.

Get used to it. I've had mine for 4 days now and everywhere I go it's the same thing. The stares, the glares, the shaking of heads. My wife publicly hates the attention it draws, but I know better. I catch her looking in mirrored store fronts as we drive by.
Enjoy it!!!

Same here, I have had my SOP for about 5 days now, and I get looks from everywhere, they pretty much look like this:  lol. The most common question I get is "What is it?" So get used to it.

When I was testing driving an Element we stopped at a Gas station to fuel up. Two people came out of the fas station and asked if they could see the inside of the Element. It was pretty funny.

Been rolling in my E for about 3 weeks and the rubbernecking hasn't stopped yet! It's pretty funny at a traffic light noticing drivers on your left and right stopping a little bit behind you just to stare at your car! :D

When I took my first test drive in an SOP 5-speed, as I was getting into the driver's seat, a salesman from the car lot next door ran over and begged to go along on the test drive... It was kinda weird, to tell you the truth, to have this guy that neither my saleman or I knew, sitting in the back and just having this non-stop commentary on how weird and crazy and cool the E was, but now it doesn't seem as odd as it did at the time... I passed up the chance for the SOP because that particular dealership is just terrible as far as negotiating. They do the four-square, MLM game and I don't have the patience for those games. I am very happy with my SLM EX 5-sp.

Peace,
