I just picked up a Memorex "MPD8400" portable CD/MP3 player at Target for $19.95, cable at Radio Shack for $4. What I'm looking for now is a dc power connector to run for power.

I've never burned an MP3 disc before, but cranked one out last night in about 10 minutes (170 songs!). Threw some batteries in the CD/MP3 player, plugged it in, and for $25 dollars I'm running!

This MP3 player was on clearance. I checked the www.memorexelectronics.com site - looks like this was a discontinued model.

I did the same thing. Until I can get an Ipod, I'll use the CD/MP3 player.
