: iPAQ Mount installation question

I am trying to figure out a way to install the "gooseneck" style mount I have for my iPAQ. On my Maxima, it attached easily by loosening a bolt that held the passenger seat to the floor and then tightening the bolt over the clamp. I obviously can't do this with the passenger seat in the Element (at least that I can tell) so I am looking for other options. I had the carpet mats installed and I see there is a "bump" near the passenger seat similar to the one near the driver seat that secures the bracket that holds the mat. Could I cut the "bump" off the passenger side and reveal a similiar spot for a self-tapping screw? Would this self-tapping screw be substantial enough to hold the iPAQ support? The gooseneck looks similiar to this:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been thinking about how to install this for weeks and I have only had my Element for 1 week. :D

Pop out the center console. I believe the are places where you could bolt it then feed it through the E brake slot with out interfearing with the brake.

I have a solution for you. I installed the gooseneck with the seat mount to my drivers side seat. Its not difficult at all. I try to take a picture tonight and post it!

How are you enjoying your IPAQ? I just got a 4155 myself and a bluetooth GPS to go with it. So far Im incredibly pleased!

A picture would be great!!! I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to mount it. I have a iPAQ 5555 with a Pharos GPS and I love it. Since my mount is not installed yet, I left on a business trip to Nashville last week without my maps (they are on a 2gb PC Card). I was lost almost the entire time. In order to find one appointment, I went in Borders and found a Nashville Street Map book and looked up the street.

Well, I got the gooseneck mount installed. While I was working under the dash installing my fog lights, I removed the plasted cover on seat and saw a screw that would hold the mount. It went in fine and works well. I wish it was a little taller but it will do.

Thanks for giving me the idea to look.
