It's hilarious! Apparently some Honda service people and techs don't agree with your 5K-10K recommendation. One dealer goes by the book and another claims to but the service mgr of same recommends 3K. Then with the additive pkg some are adamant about 5K for break in oil but another tech said, hogwash, we use the same oil as used in the factory.

So, at 3200 mi I'm gonna go 5K, which is a first. No big deal. And for some humor I recommend the oil change interval threads.
Some of these guys really get latered up over which oil to use, etc.

I work for a dealer and i havent followed honda's recomendation at all....still do my oil changes every 3 months not 4.

Do you also recommend the 3K interval? What, may I ask, do you tell customers? If you're a service tech, do you stick to the Honda rec or the 3K/3Mos? If not, does mgt give a rip? Just curious.

im actually the asst parts manager...for all our customers we recomend they stick with the 4month 8000 km sched....when it comes to my own cars i prefer to change the oil every 3 months wether it needs it or not.
